What a great experience! Decided to stop in, sat at the bar
What a great experience! Decided to stop in, sat at the bar and had a blast. The drinks were great, food was top quality. The restaurant was lovely. Definitely worth a try if you haven't been yet. We just did apps and drinks - enough food and didn't feel like we missed out! The only recommendation for the bar - get some quality vodka selections.

Awful service, we had to wait for an hour to get our table with rear. we got our steak and it was cold, the general manager was super rude. Will never go back. Very disappointing restaurant all together.

I went to Tesse already feeling a little skeptical because a lot of the places I've been to in WeHo have very high prices for what feels like mediocre food. Despite that, I did have high hopes because of other reviews and the menu looked promising. I went there with my partner, for an anniversary dinner because it is marketed as a romantic french restaurant. It was not very romantic or French. The music was so loud we were shouting at each other just to hear each other, and other than the cheese board and Pates, it wasn't very French. It took a while to even flag the waiter down. We got water 20 minutes after we sat down, and they left before we could order, so we had to wait even longer before anyone came back in our direction and we had to flag them down and ask for our order to be taken.Drinks:Got the tipsy post melon - very pleasant drink. Good sweetness level and flavor! My partner got a beer, and the waiter did not know how to pour beer and made a bit of a mess.Food:Cheese board was great, the bread was really nice. They didn't really give a large amount of cheese though, and it was a 32$ board. The only thing that was really great was the crab simplissime. It was delicious and I loved the different layers. We also got the bone marrow bucatini - the microscopic amount of bone marrow was disappointing, but the general flavor of the pasta was pleasant - but again nothing special. We ended with the whole Branzino, which was 52$. With the high price, I was expecting more than just an unseasoned whole fish with a smattering of tomatoes on top of it. The fish itself was good quality but it literally was not seasoned at ALL. The bill came out to around 270$ with tip and we were decently full.Service: 2.5/5Food: 3.5/5Will not be going back.

This dining experience was way beyond my expectations!! Food and drinks was on point. The staff were attentive yet fun. I love the atmosphere on a Saturday night, the DJ played all the cool music. We had a top night!! Come party here, you won't be disappointed

I echo other reviewers when I say " unimaginative and overpriced" I break down the experience below: 1. Service - 5 stars the server was excellent, he embodied an attitude long hone from fine dining establishments. Unfortunately working for this restaurant, he may be limited in the income he so much deserves 2. Ambiance- 3 stars. Fake, unimaginative conformism with what they feel should be the Sunset Strip. More staff than patrons chugging wines as if they are in an old era Hollywood movies. I was expecting cigar and cigarette smoking right inside . 3. Food - 1 star this is where overpriced and unimaginative cross paths. Steak had no flavor and just a hint of burnt aftertaste. Lamb was sub par, any Persian or Armenian restaurant serving the same dish would have shined. The bread was adequate and the only thing great was the butter, but butter is not made or prepared in house. Oh and the bread is extra, 8 bucks for something every other restaurant serves complimentary. General: there is nothing gourmet or memorable about this please. The price you pay is to eat on the sunset strip. Do yourself a favor and eat at a restaurant that serves great food regardless of the price instead of coming here.

We decided last minute to have dinner at Tesse for Valentine's Day. We tried their prefix menu and the food was out of this world delicious!! We ordered the crudo, octupus, and lobster sausage to start. Their crudo was very good, octopus cooked to perfection, but the star of the show was the sausage. In a pork casing and over a bur blanc sauce -- it was so masterfully designed. I pray this is on the regular menu. The steak is being cooked over an open fire which is what sparked our interest. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium-rare. The potatoes were so nice and crispy on the outside but inside so soft! The truffle pasta was truffle forward with the big shaved pieces on top, but the pasta was so fresh and so light. The cocktails were everything! The bartender was service was amazing. Her recommendations were on point and the ambiance definitely matched every element! Highly recommend and cannot wait to go back again!

Food = scrumptious Service = delightfulWe came here for my friends birthday and we like doing early dinners, so we got lucky coming during happy hour. The restaurant ambience was alright - I'm not a fan of super close seating. Housemade baguette with ample butter = MUST GET! I'm currently craving this carb right nowOnion rings = Very greasy, can pass on these Caviar toast = 1 piece per person was not enough. They do put a good amount of caviar on itHamachi crudo = the crudo melts in yo mouthLobster sausage = didn't smell great, initially, BUT tasted phenomenal! Grilled octopus = I could eat it daily!!!! I love octopus and this one was greatWe were so full from all of the above we didn't even have room for dessert. The food, while there, was phenomenal BUT the next day we had tummy troubles. Can't truly say it was because of the restaurant but we both had it. Either way it was worth it! We ate and had a detox.
Be the first to ReplyNice ambiance, but a bit more n the smaller side.
The food had a nice presentation and was good.

Get your $12 supermarket steak for $136. As a restaurant reviewer in West Hollywood, I was excited to try out the highly anticipated restaurant, "Tesse". However, my experience left me deeply disappointed and I feel compelled to share my experience. The evening began with a waiter who was unfriendly and unprofessional. We were seated at a table that was so close to the neighboring table that it felt like we were dining with strangers. Our server was inattentive, taking forever to bring us water and never bothering to check in on us throughout the meal. The food was a whole other issue. Overpriced. Uninspired. My partner ordered a steak that was overcooked and tough, and my pasta dish was so over-salted that it was inedible. When we asked to speak to the manager, we were met with even more rudeness. The manager was condescending and dismissive, offering no apologies or solutions for our unsatisfactory meal.To top it all off, the ambiance was terrible. The lighting was too dim, and the decor was cheap and uninspired. I felt like I was dining in a fast-food restaurant rather than a high-end bistro.I was deeply disappointed with my experience at Tesse and would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. The lack of professionalism and poor food quality made for a subpar dining experience that I won't soon forget.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was good.
However, due to some complications about the valentine's menu, we were charged for four people although we were three. Okay. The waitress was exceptionally cold and unfriendly from the start. Her rose choker must have meant something. Whatever. The sommelier was quite good and friendly. A welcome relief. We decided to wait for orderting desserts until the end. As a result, apparently, we had only two choices and one took 20 minutes. So one choice. No apologies. No love at all. Then the pay process from a QR code was nightmarish. If you want an expensive meal from a cold wait staff as a Kafkaesque nightmare designed to make you feel like you showed up at the wrong party, wearing the wrong clothes, then Tesse could be your wet dream.

I've been here a couple times and this time we did the F*Ck the recession prefix and it was amazing. Great service, amazing value, and really unique delicious food. The little gem salad, cauliflower, bucatini pasta with bone marrow, half chicken, and toffee caramel dessert. We also did the F*ck preset wine pairing which was perfect and great value.

Went here on Saturday night, this place had great food & great atmosphere, only thing I didn't appreciate is that the tip was included. If the server was friendly I would have given it 5/5 stars and had a much better experience, he was kind of an asshole... yet we were automatically charged gratuity, if you're going to make the tip automatic at least give us a friendlier server. Otherwise, it was a good time, delicious food and lovely atmosphere.
Be the first to ReplySooooooo tasty.
This lobster roll was amazing. Roll was super soft and flavorful. We also got elderflower spritz. French toast was amazing

Thanks to Kevin our server for giving us a great Birthday Experience!

My First dinner at Tesse , Tesse is short for délicatesse, which can translate as either "delicacy" or "charcuterie."Given the look of the dining room -pure midcentury glitz, with sculptural patterned walls, uncluttered lines, calming woods and geometric bar stools -- one might expect a more solidly Continental-French bent to the hodgepodge modern American menu. That would square with the renaissance of French cuisine cresting across America.Amazing food and service. The waitstaff changes your plate and silverware every course. Highlights include: bone marrow pasta (with port wine luge), beef short rib pasta, pork chop with peaches, hamachi crudo with goose berry, and Chilean sea bass. All of the dishes were flavorful, tender, and fresh. The cocktails, especially the Karen cocktail, were complex and drinkable.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing.
We'll definitely be back. We had duck fat fries, one caviar toast, lobster sausage, a martini, and the best chocolate soufflé I ever had. Delicious!
Be the first to ReplyDefinitely will be back for the food.
The salmon skewer was good. The duck fat fries were really good. Not a big fan of the burrata; however, the tomahawk was delicious.

This place is Amazing! I'm not a huge fan of Mediterranean food but this place taught me a thing or two. Wow, I can honestly say I had the best salad I've ever had here and everything else on the chefs choice was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend this place. I usually don't consider sunset my dinner table but this place has changed my mind. Thanks guys!

The entire experience from walking in to dining and departing is nothing short of exceptional. There's also a $10 valet option. The Boutellier wine shop has exclusive and wine selections for everyone. The entire menu is curated with love and great minds. Owners, Jordan and Chef Raph, are beyond amazing personable individuals. The cocktail menu is ahhhhmazing & The juices are freshly squeezed! All the servers and Andy, floor manager, are wonderful! A sunset gem indeed
Be the first to ReplyCame here for a nice dinner out on sunset.
My party and I arrived right on time and we're seated promptly. Unfortunately, we were not greeted or served by anybody for about 25 minutes, so we just sat around at an empty table. The first person to come and interact with our table didn't greet us or introduce themselves, but said, "did anyone get your order yet?" in a hasty manner. After taking our orders, we never saw that same waiter again. As far as food goes, everything tasted good, and the cocktails were always served much later, so I suggest you ask for them asap. My only real complaint about my dish is that the server stirred my bucatini & bone marrow with the napkin all into the pasta! Overall, the atmosphere and food were okay, but wasn't worth the 200+ we paid for dinner.
Be the first to ReplyLong on the todo list, we finally booked a dinner at Tesse
Long on the todo list, we finally booked a dinner at Tesse for a birthday celebration (marked as such on OpenTable). The place has a cool and hip ambiance, open view to the kitchen. And the food was very good, brought out for all to share. Burrata with walnut hummus and winter apple, Hamachi crudo, duck fat fries, and a little gem salad were excellent starters. The test would be the grilled octopus: can it compare with Bavel? It was good, not as tender as at Bavel, but quite honestly what failed it most was the chorizo that took a much too dominant flavor. From the mains, the branzino was my favorite, but the black truffle fusilli and the magret duck were delicious too. A flourless chocolate cake with icecream and guanaja chocolate sauce was superb, whereas the profiteroles' dough was not fresh and had not a chance to compete with my own. All in all great - and yet only 3 stars!!!What did I not like (listed from most to least severe annoying)?1) touch-free paying, I am all for it. But I find it completely inappropriate and inexcusable that the staff walks up with the bill on display and shows it to everyone at the table. Have they ever heard anything about discretion? I don't care how high the bill is, but there were individuals who almost (and unnecessarily) felt bad about the price. Unacceptable: F2) the occasion was marked on the reservation. While there was a small surprise delivered to another table, there was none here. A lack of attention to detail: C-3) This day was again the beginning of significantly colder temperatures. The windows were left open far too long, and we could never really feel comfortable at the table close by: B-4) In a restaurant that wants to be in the top league, I would expect that the plates be changed between courses more proactively and not just at request. Lack of style: B5) The noise level - not at last resulting from the music - is significant and often suppressed conversations of the whole table. Cool but unmeasured. A-
