$$$$ but GREAT quality food and amazing vibes.
. feels like your in a vineyard somewhere in Italy. Beautiful setting. Drinks were ok but the whipped ricotta, the chicken kebab and lobster pasta is a must! Also service was GREAT.

The worst service I've ever seen. The wait was 45 min but we could wait at the bar or so we were told. While looking at the menu the bartender asked us 4 times if we would order something basically "hurry up" and after ordering he tells us we have to order at least one entrรฉe in order to even sit here. Yet we were told we could wait at the bar for a table. While we were shoulder to shoulder with people the ambiance was totally ruined. The bartenders made us feel like we were begging for food instead of paying a lot of money for it. Never felt more unwelcome in my life. We ended up completely walking out and hanging the menu right back. Would never come back or recommend. The rudest wait staff I've ever seen.
Be the first to ReplyWhat was not good ?.
.. is the cesspool smell while eating my dinner and several weeks prior my girlfriend had the same dining experience with the cesspool smell.I had recommended this place to so many because the food really is fabulous and the staff is really good and the restaurant over the past few years had a wonderful ambiance but unfortunately the cesspool smell ruined the whole experience . I hope they address this issue immediately. It was not low tide smell either as I live near the water and know what that smells like.
Be the first to ReplyWe have been here a handful of times.
The quality and vibe has gone downhill, sadly. I remember a pasta dish with spicy lobster that was taken off the menu in subsequent years. This dish is now offered with a tiny bit of crab and intense heat. Sorry, it will not be this place that rips me off the beach to shower and be in queue at 4:30pm for dinner. We are glad to drop some coin for dinner when it is worth it. Beautiful location though!
Be the first to ReplyGood food, great ambiance.
Beautiful sunset on the lake Whipped ricotta & Lobster pasta were delicious
Be the first to ReplyAwesome date night.
Food was very good but the fatty part of the steak was too chewy, the wait for 2 people was 2 hours so we ate at the bar . The views are gorgeous , you have to see this place in person, it's on a hill that leads to a beach with a fire pit, just fantastic spot over all
Be the first to ReplyMy friend and I go to Montauk every summer and I can't
My friend and I go to Montauk every summer and I can't believe we had never tried Crows Nest. To start- it is absolutely beautiful both inside and outside. The crows nest is on a huge property. That is literally breathtaking and beautiful. If the weather is nice, definitely sit outside. They give you carrots and hummus, and honestly my friend and I were laughing at the portion size, but then we remembered we were in the Hamptons. After asking several staff, what they recommend, the whipped ricotta appetizer was a must and I will be dreaming about it for the next several months. It literally was so delicious and I wish I had some right now, HA! Our scallop entrรฉe was delicious as well. We ended up splitting all the plates we got. The scallops were tender and cooked perfectly. Seeing queen Alix Earle herself was the highlight of the night, LOL! Make sure to make your way down to the bar at the bottom of the hill for a nice drink and people watching afterwards. Its right on the water and so pretty down there!

Delicious food and attentive service. Loved it

A little lonely in the cottages I was the only one there. Friendly helpful. The restaurant was great. I would definitely go back.

Eh. Expensive for the sake of being expensive. Limited menu options & overpriced drinks. Food was ok. Had the chicken kabobs, and halibut. For the price nothing special. Felt rushed by the staff. Would not go back. It's nothing special.

And this isn't a "5 stars for Montauk" rating - it's an all time rating. Maybe we hit it on a good night, maybe we did everything right? Here's how we experienced the Crow's Nest:- Arrived at 4:15PM for a party of 19, broken into tables of 8 (women), 7 (men) and 4 (older kids) - the younger kids roamed the property (supervised down by the cute swing set) and never did sit - which is good since there really aren't any good children menu items.- Some in our party knew the menu and knew how to order. We started with a few table appetizers, whipped ricotta (I love you), tuna and fluke tiradito (Peruvian for sashimi). We then moved onto a pasta course of lobster tagliatelle and Moroccan lamb pappardelle - out of this world. Then for mains, we ordered scallops and ribeye. The women's table had the halibut and said it was among the best they've had. For desert, they offer a platter which has a small taste of everything, which was perfect. And their coffee / espresso was perfect. The tastes of the dishes were all amazing. I remember zoning out in the conversations, not able to pay attention, because the food was so delicious and I couldn't focus on anything else. - We had the MOST AMAZING server- she was the most professional, down to every single detail. How she served, how she cleared, silverware service, deep knowledge of the menu, and awareness of what was going on at our other two tables. She wasn't a seasonal person trying her had at serving, she knew what she was doing, and it made a tremendous difference. She wasn't "chummy", she never disappeared, and she was around whenever needed. I can understand the mixed reviews - as most people might think it is crazy to deal with all of these policies that Crow's Nest puts in place to be as fair as possible - to those people I would say - you are a guest of their experience - and I suggest you appreciate it. Just because you're paying alot of money, you don't get to dictate the terms of this (perfect) restaurant. And our check was on the higher-end. You can see the menu online, and don't need me to tell you that. As for the decor - everything, every tiny detail, is exquisite. Montauk-esque, with a high-end touch, all with a North African-ish vibe (think Moroccan / Tunisian, however, I'm no expert) - this is down to the font they use on the menus.

What a wonderful place! So picturesque I could stay there for hours. My group of 6 shared starters and mains. Everything was fresh and delicious, but the standouts were whipped ricotta and lobster tagliatelle. Our server was very charming and accommodating. We arrived at 6:00 on Sunday and seated on the patio right away. Pricy but worth it (IMO) for the memorable experience- take photos!
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful food, beautiful people.
Lovely area. Expensive & ridiculously long waits. We arrived at 5:30pm and told we had a 1hour & 45 min wait. We went down to the bar near the water and order drinks. We ordered their special Watermelon drink and added vodka ($30 each with a small tip). We tried to wait. We walked by the water but it was too crowded, no seating available not staff to help with the chaos of people roaming around. We finally gave up 2hours later. We later got a text over 2 1/2 hours later that our table was ready. We never made it for dinner. We left at 2 hours & 15 minutes later for Gossmans which was fabulous, not crowded and 1/3 of the price. I was told you needed to get there by 4 - 4:30pm to get in line for a 5:30pm- 6pm seating.

Wow. The ambiance is rustic and charming overlooking Lake Montauk. Mediterranean fare that was fresh and delicious. The buratta with warm peaches and mixed greens is amazing. The hummus platter exceeded expectations. The cocktail menu is varied and interesting, try the vodka watermelon, yum.Servers were attentive and friendly. Honestly, cannot wait to come back but come early or be prepared to wait as they do not take reservations.
Be the first to ReplyAs a visitor, we had a wonderful meal at Crow's Nest.
If you get there and there's a waitlist, head down to the little bar by the water. You walk all the way down a hill to the water and it's super cute with all of the boats on the lake. (You can't see the beach bar from the restaurant but just walk down the hill and you'll find it.) We ate scallops and drank wine and it was all so delicious.

Came here for dinner last night with my girlfriend and three other friends. When we got there they told us it would be a 1.5 hour wait (it ended up being 2), but honestly the wait here isn't that annoying because drinking in the lawn while you wait is a great experience by itself. The crowd is a mix of families (likely rich) and young people (either rich, with rich families, or with credit cards). Rumor had it that Scarlett Johansen was here last week. We sat by a guy from million dollar listing. The food was incredible. For appetizers we had oysters, tuna, beet salad, and burata. For my main I had the lobster tagliatelle- absolutely incredible.

Never had nothing short of an excellent experience here in the 6 or 7 times I've dined for dinner. Service, food, ambiance, sunsets, all A+. Only wish they took reservations.
Be the first to ReplyWorst attitudes ever .
.. we didn't ever get to the food! The hostess was so mean upon arrival, we were a party of 10 ... I had a plastic cup with me from my boat with ice water in it ... she says to me: "Ummm jussssst for the opticsssssss ... can you get rid of the sippy cup?" I wanted to smash her ... plastic, fake, ugly vibe ... And we didn't even get to the food.
Be the first to ReplyF*ck this place but great pasta.
Was it worth $50 a dish of a pound of pasta? No but I could've sucked it up for one night if it didn't start pouring. I know, crows nest can't control the weather.... But they can control what kind of resources they have when they sit 15 tables outside and the weather predicts rain. They took away our barely eaten $40-$55 entree dishes, wouldn't give us an umbrella even though they gave every other table one and wouldn't give us anywhere to take refuge from the absolutely down pouring weather. Tons of people were crammed into the gift shop trying to not get soaked but it didn't work for anyone. I would get take out from here but would never go sit and eat again on principle. This might sound dramatic but if you saw what my hair looks like after being rained on your understand. They also didn't offer any sort of compensation or appeasement for us getting rained on 1 min into our entrees and stealing them when we were mid bite.
Be the first to ReplyI would never go back there for dinner.
I expect a place like this to charge an exorbitant amount for their food because it's located on the lakeside where you can watch the sunset and that's very nice. But as far as the food, it's totally not worth it. I ordered the chicken kebab and they were the driest pieces of chicken I've ever had. The little squirt of yogurt sauce that comes with it does nothing for it. You must have a lot of saliva in your mouth to bring down the dry chicken. I would just go there for the sunset and the watermelon cooler drink.

We shut up right when Crosnest opened and the place was about 25% capacity with empty tables everywhere they stuffed me and my family of five in a table of four in a corner when we asked to be moved to one of the empty tables that were everywhere we were told they reserved but yet they don't take reservations. It quite frankly the staff was a bunch of rude hippies in my opinion and I will go near this place ever again. You can keep it way better restaurants with way better service
Be the first to ReplyWe spent the week in Montauk .
Went to Duryea's, surf lodge and lots of other places. Absolutely Great restaurant with excellent service and excellent food. On our last night we heard that crows nest had a nice view so we decided to go. We got there early before 6 PM. The place was pretty empty and shoved my family in a corner in a four seat table with five people. Needless to say we couldn't even sit there it was so hot and tight. So I asked the maรฎtre d' if we could please move outside to a five seated table and he said no but we could put you in the other corner inside basically at the same table. I never really leave complaints and reviews but this place has got to be a joke. There's too many nice places in Montauk and get a wonderful meal with great service and paying top dollar to deal with. Rude people. So they can take their Baba ghanouj and the couscous to the....
