The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort, Bahamas Reviews from The Last Year
Paradise on Paradise Island
If you want everything right, this is your place. An impeccable facility with every corner maintained as good as possible. Gardens, buildings, beach, everything. Already the drive up to the Hotel is marvellous. The service more than stacks up to this standard. Everybody is very friendly, service is fast and attentive. Restaurants are very good. Very nice local food. I admit having had Conch salad twice a day whilst there. Although counter intuitive, I felt that the pool restaurant had a vaster choice than the gourmet main restaurant. We had a Hartford Wing Oceanfront room on the ground floor. Being able to walk out is definitely a pro. The room was very well maintained and beautifully decorated. Concierge team was very helpful also prior to arrival. The chat function in the app is great - but would not work without Agent Rochelle: So helpful, fast and friendly. A very big thank you, Rochelle - very well done. We unfortunately did not meet her in person. The beach is a fantastic as on the pictures. The ability to use the Atlantis facilities was great in the sense that we were incredibly happy to be able to leave that place after 45 minutes and return to the OC. Overall: One of the best places I have been. Equally nice experience but very different were FS in Hong Kong and Tswalu
Excellent all the way around
We had a wonderful visit. The grounds and pools were lovely. I especially enjoyed the infinity pool and beach. The staff at all levels were very friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Our meals at both restaurants were excellent. A couple dinners were spent working in our rooms with room service, and those meals were excellent as well. We found our room to be quite peaceful and very comfortable. Each person in our group raved about the rainfall showers - with the giant shower heads, at least 12 inches in diameter. Our final dinner was a Friday night at Dune, and the atmosphere was quite festive. Our waiter, Douglas, has been there for 24 years, and made our night fun and memorable. We look forward to our next visit!
Disastrous service at Four Seasons Ocean Club
Over 2 hours for dinner, 45-min wait for breakfast with absent service, room service & lifeguard negligence, and a checkout fiasco. A stark contrast to expected luxury, complete with unjust mandatory gratuity. Avoid at all costs.
Bad value for money. Beautiful beach, beautiful gardens, nice lobby entrance and then all downhill from there.
Bad food, rooms in need of refurbishment, average to poor service. I stayed for 6 nights with my family in 2 separate beach view rooms. The rooms have nice views but inside it feels as if you are lost in the nineties. The food after day 2 was something I would not be looking forward to as it had a cafeteria feeling to it. I escaped to the nearby restaurants at the Atlantis to save the day. The hotel has a nice gym and great connectivity to the nearby golf course ( 5 minutes by hotel shuttle) which is very nice.
A FourSeasons resort that disappoints
Bahamas is a wonderful beach destination at this time of the year and the Ocean Club is well positioned at Paradise Island. The Ocean Club is somewhat dated and worn out (does require a thorough renovation). The rooms are comfortable, clean and were in good condition. The sea views from the beach front swimming pool and our 2nd floor room were breathtaking. The hotel offers a 2nd, large, quiet and secluded pool that is attractive. The gym and tennis courts are pretty good. Overall resort cleanliness was not “Four Seasons” standard and the management team does not seem to be paying attention, a huge disappointment. The hotel offers easy access to a good golf course for those interested in the sport. In summary, I think that I should have taken the critical TripAdvisor reviews more seriously before I booked the trip.
Beautiful grounds - not worth the price tag.
We stayed at this Casino Royale film grounds but, compared to others where we have stayed before, this one fell short of a Four Seasons experience. Additionally, beware of too many hidden VAT fees... I wouldn't return.
Exceptional brunch
We only booked for the Sunday brunch. Room facing the sea, interior and exterior, buffet of exceptional quality, perfect and friendly service, a musical atmosphere with a singer, a breathtaking view.
One of the best hotel experiences you will ever have...
Put simply, we've stayed at many five star resorts. This is at the top. The service is exceptional, the staff is amazing, the food is delicious, and the setting is perfection. There are few places that recognize you and take care of you everywhere you go. This is the one to beat!
The Best
Simply superb in every way. Staff, service, accommodations, pools, beach are all exceptional. General manager John Conway continues to improve the property. Yes it’s expensive but it’s worth every penny. My daughter and son in law got married there right before Covid and our family first return visit with their first child couldn’t have been better.
Couldnt get any better than this....
First time at this resort and I must say it was PERFECT. We spent our wedding anniversary there and my wife and I loved it. Everything was perfectly landscaped, service was top notch and everyone was so friendly. I know I can be a demanding person when it comes to details but they excelled in everything. Truly Truly Truly our favorite place and now we are rebooking again for her birthday in March 2024. Thank you guys, your staff are down to earth people and dedicated to TRUE customer service.
Gorgeous property and warm, friendly service all around.
Great food and service. The spa (thank you Selena) experience was one of the best. Marcus ensured we were well looked after and, without exception, all the staff are warm, friendly and so attenyive. This will likely be an annual trip for my husband and me.
A good spot but................
This was my first trip to The Ocean Club, a property I have wanted to try for a number of years. First, let me context my comments: I have been visiting Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts for 25+ years and am very familiar with the high and quite consistent service levels and quality of the properties. The Ocean Club, in a number of areas, doesn’t quite measure up to the normal Four Seasons level of property or service. Here are a few examples: • Never once in four mornings did anyone at Dune Restaurant ever voluntarily offer to refill my coffee cup at breakfast. With only 4 or 5 tables occupied, it would take 5 minutes to find someone who would refill a coffee cup. I would have received much better service at Denny’s or IHOP. • The main restaurant, Dune, is advertised as a Jean-George Vongerichten restaurant and he is listed as the owner of the restaurant on the menus. Frankly I expected some level of elevated dining. That is not the case. The food is competently executed but it is plain and uninteresting. Additionally, the kitchen has a hard time properly timing meals. Both dinners we ate there involved overly long waits between first and second courses. I’m not sure The Four Seasons did itself any favors outsourcing the main restaurant on property. Because of the proximity of the resort to Atlantis, it seems that they have given up competing with the restaurants at Atlantis. • The property is beautifully landscaped and while there I saw people trimming shrubs etc., what I did not see was anyone cutting the grass, which was 4 or 5 inches tall in some areas. • At the main pool, they were out of SPF 50 sunscreen when we arrived and, in spite of the staff knowing they were out, it was never refilled during our visit. A case of no one taking responsibility for an issue. • And then on our last day, there was no hot water. At 8:30 in the morning they had no idea that the hot water for an entire wing of the hotel was out. Luckily there were able to fix the system quickly and about an hour later we had hot water but it was an additional sign that the property is not being kept to Four Seasons standards.

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
