A Great Place!
The food, service and atmosphere are all wonderful! The menu has a lot to choose from. There are plenty of options to choose from. I will be back!
Be the first to ReplyQuality did not reflect price or service
The quality did not reflect the price nor the service. We went on a Monday night, although we were the only ones in the restaurant we were seated right next to a waiter station. The restaurant was really quite and I realized there wasn’t any music playing. When I asked if the could turn in some music they turned it up in the bar area? We ordered 3 appetizers. The crab cake was all bread crumbs, the tuna tar tar tasted like an anchovy and the buratta and tomatoe salad was an unripe tomato and a slice of regular, mozzarella. The entrees were just as bad. My husband enjoyed his steak, My sea bass tasted like it was bought at the grocery store, stuffed with Im not sure, it was supposed to be lump crabmeat. On top of all of this, our service took forever. I realize when a restaurant is busy it may take some time to deliver your food, but we were literally the only ones there. I was very disappointed. The staff was very nice but the bad food was inexcusable.
Be the first to ReplyClassic Colonial Like Setting and Great Food - Attached to the Huntting Inn
Eye pleasing Colonial syle interior decor greats you as you enter through the main door to the Restaurant and the splendor of wood (both dark and white) surrounding the dining rooms. The main distraction is that one immediately realizes how load it is when there's a decent sized crowd there. So no intimate little conversations in whisper tones here. We were seated promptly and served waterquickly. We picked some wines by glass (ranging from $20.00 - $24.00/glass) from an extensive drinks menu which included some delightful cocktails as well as wines and ordered our dinners. Their menu is top notch with something for everybody. We shared a Jumbo Lump Crabmeat Cake ($27.00) with mains Filet Mignon 8oz ($56+$4 sauce+$16 topping) and the and a $48 Halibut. We also shared a 3 cheese protatoe side which was not worth it and tasteless. However, I can say without any exageration that my filet was probably the best I have ever tasted even when compared to many of the NYC steakhouses we've been to. My wife's Halibut was equally impressive while the carrot cak dessert we shared was out of this world. All this culinary ecstasy was destroyed with the watery and runny coffees that followed. (they were taken off our bill). If it weren't for the pricing being at nose-bleed levels (King Crab $75.00, etc) this would have been a 5 star review whih they richly deserve just based on the food. Parking is adequate on premise and the side street and the service was spot-on.

We received a warm greeting on arrival. We were a large group which is always a challenge for service but they provided very nice service. The room was comfortable. I split a surf and turf which was on the small side so it was good that sides were ordered for the table. The bar is well appointed and cocktails well crafted.
Be the first to ReplyNice setting but marginal food
This was once the premier steakhouse in East Hampton. It has been recently sold to the Landrys chain and several locals have complained that the food quality has gone downhill. Our recent dinner for 7 people was marginal. Such a disappointment. I could not even finish my steak. It was a poor cut of meat. 3 others at our table didn’t want to take home their leftovers because of the quality. The coolest part of this restaurant is the bar. Awesome, cozy, fun place to have a drink. My recommendation to those looking for outstanding food and cocktails, easy choice, go to the East Hampton Grill.
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding service and superb General Manager
I recently stayed in the Huntting Inn and had dinner at The Palm. Christopher Gilman went above and beyond with our stay at the Huntting and our dining experience at the Palm. The experience we received was excellent and Christopher and his team did everything possible to ensure that our stay and dinner were excellent.
Be the first to ReplyA Must Visit
The quintessential New York restaurant on the Hamptons. Great Menu, Great Food, Great Service and a lively atmosphere - highly recommended.
Be the first to ReplyA Pleasant Dining Experience
The outside of the restaurant was lovely lighted at night. The interior was a bit dark and could have used a tad more lighting. Our waitress was very pleasant and efficient. We each ordered a glass of wine in two different sizes and it was excellent as was the crabmeat cocktail, the lobster bisque, the lamb chops, and the Caprese salad.

I sent this to the Palm in response to their request to describe my dining experience there.
“As a long-term Palm supporter with a five-figure 837 Club point balance (and now an undecipherable number of Landry’s points), I never thought I’d be writing a review like this.
But having recently had the worst (and most expensive - $72!) Palm steak ever, a supposed ribeye that looked suspiciously like a New York Strip, which cooled at the table while my wife and I picked at the new, inferior bread and tried to get the attention from one of the inattentive and disorganized servers to crack open her lobster, which was followed by warm (not hot) hash brown potatoes. I can’t comment on the cheesecake as by the time of our 6:30 dinner reservation, they had already run out of it.
So, to the bean counters at Landry’s: you may have won financially, but you eliminated the culture of what the Palm used to be, and I’d be willing to wager, lost many loyal customers like me along the way. And to my fellow carnivores: see you at BLT.”
After receiving the above, the Palm sent me a quasi-form email, sort of apologizing, and offering to send me “an incentive” to prove that they could do better. They never sent the “incentive.” I rest my case.
A tailspin
Staid, dark, good but never great…then the music stopped. The bar stopped serving burgers (sorry kids), the staff went down two notches, the food still expensive but bland and the pace seems more run down than before. My guess is that Landry’s chain is just riding it out. Look at Morton’s, once good and new, now cringe worthy and old. Cross off another reliable spot.

When did The Palm close?
I made a reservation for The Palm at the huntting inn,a restaurant I have enjoyed in East Hampton since the 80s, but I seem to have eat in beefsteak Charlie’s (apologies to millennials)
Completely different menu, food and service. I’m sure some regulars will forgo the change and love the emperor’s new clothes, but take my advice and grill one for yourself. Not worth it
Palm East Hampton still the best
The Palm in the Hunting Inn in East Hampton, Long Island, is now part of the Landry’s restaurant chain..
Don’t worry.....The Palm is still the best Restaurant with manager Sheila and new GM Gabe at the helm.
Food still wonderful and bartender Joe, still giving great service in the cozy bar booths.
Even with the COVID-19 situation, they come through with flying colors.
You never know who might be walking in the door.....Jimmy Fallon, JT, Robert Downey, Ralph Lauren......etc
Sheila and Gabe are up to the challenge, providing wonderful hospitality and great management.
Thank you for so many great meals and memories.
Outstanding!!
From the first meeting with Sheila Bennett The Palm Assistant Manager to book our daughter and son-in-law to be wedding rehearsal dinner last January we were amazed at how we were treated.
Sheila and General Manager Andrew Tobin made us feel comfortable and relaxed. They were straightforward, easy to deal with and went over and above to make our dinner there a perfect one.
Our rehearsal celebration was Saturday December 14th, 2019 and The Palm was fabulous. The entire restaurant was decorated for the holidays and our private room was beautiful. The food was 5 star as usual and all of our 30+ guests loved everything from the hors d’oeuvres to dessert.
Andrew, Sheila the bar tenders and waitstaff treated us like family throughout the evening and we couldn’t be more thankful to them for making our event fabulous.
Thanks again for everything,
The Sarnicola/Lucas families
Nothing Beats the Palm
If you're in the Hamptons and you want steak, amazing steak, or lobster or great fish for that matter, there's no-place like The Palm. The scene's great. The service is great. The food's great. The location is great. And I shouldn't reveal this secret, but the Happy Hour is the greatest!
Be the first to ReplyAlways Outstanding
Unlike the traditional atmosphere of The Palm [no charicatures were noted], it was a low key well executed meal as always. Enjoyed the quieter atmosphere [vs NYC]
Be the first to Reply10th Anniversary Celebration
This was a great experience from reception to dessert. It is on the pricier side but the quality and service made it well worth it.
The only fault I could find and it did not change my opinion of our experience; I made the reservation online and included information that it was a special occasion (10th Anniversary) and our wait staff didn't seem to know that
