From the moment we stepped foot into the St.
Regis Venice, we were enveloped in unparalleled luxury and hospitality. The service was simply outstanding, exceeding our every expectation. Nestled in an incredible location, the hotel provided breathtaking views of Venice's enchanting canals, adding an extra layer of magic to our stay. Our room was nothing short of perfection, impeccably designed and offering every comfort imaginable. What truly touched our hearts was the thoughtful gesture for our 8th-year wedding anniversary. The balloons and a bottle of Prosecco awaiting us were delightful surprises, adding a special touch to our celebration. Thank you, St. Regis Venice, for the unforgettable experience. We cannot wait to return and create more cherished memories in this haven of luxury.

Regis Venice is what you would expect in a 5 star hotel. High end finishes to the premises, beautiful canal view from the dining terrace, highly professional service and carefully and expertly executed food. But it is in a St. Regis and therefore lacks any sense of being in a remarkable place. If it is your style to head for your rich aunt's house for dinner, this would suit you. But if, like me, you want to rub elbows with a local or two, pick a taverna that is wearing work cloths. Not complaining about anything out of place, just not different enough to bring me back next time.

What a beautiful hotel! Perfect location to be away from sounds of St Marks Square but close enough you can be there in less than 4 minutes! Modern yet full of Italian Style & Art! Definitely worth a 5-star review!

We didn't get a chance to sit by the canal during breakfast because the weather was on the chilly side during out stay, but the buffet breakfast was still very enjoyable. The staff was very helpful and I couldn't thank them enough for making our stay so memorable.

Yes, this is an extremely pricey hotel! But if you're lucky enough to either have a spouse who has status with Marriott, or you use the military rate, or you just splurge, the St. Regis is ABSOLUTELY worth it! My wife and I have stayed at hotels around the world in many exotic locations. Her status is Titanium Elite from years of business travel. We have never been treated so sincerely well, nor has any hotel member been so kind, friendly, and professional! This is a gushing review, but totally the epitome of a 5 star lodging experience. The other reviews are spot on with specifics, so I'll just cover our most important. First, we've never slept so well, in such a quiet environment! The rooms are very insulated. So much so, that I couldn't hear my wife in the bathroom next store while she was showering! Hallways were so quiet, I thought we might have been the only people in that area (we weren't!) Secondly, the staff does everything they can to help you in any way. And I don't mean just the normal duties. If you want something and they can get or do it for you, they will, without fussing or acting like you're putting them out. Thirdly, the location on the Grand Canal just can't be beat! Directly across from the Basilica de Santa Maria (unfortunately, partially covered due to renovation), a short walk to Piazza San Marco, and close to the Ponte Dell'Accademia (to spend time in the funnest part of Venice eating cicchetti!) Do yourself a favor and get a water taxi to arrive at their private dock! Or you can save some bucks inbound and take the public boat (Vaporetto) for about €10. I highly recommend letting the St. Regis order a private water taxi when departing. It is about €70, but the drivers are experts and you'll enjoy an stress-free departure at your specific time, without having to wait or drag your bags to a public dock. Besides, you'll enjoy a fabulous "cruise" through the Grand Canal and have a priceless memory of your time in Venezia! Enjoy and make this an easy part of your trip!

Regis Venice is absolutely amazing. The attention to detail throughout the hotel was exceptional. The Grand Canal view was magnificent. The most impressive part of our experience was the staff. Everyone from check in to departure were a pleasure to deal with. Splurge for the private water taxi to the train station or airport from their private dock.

Be the first to ReplyA REAL five star hotel.
This place is beautiful. The hotel is modern, new, and amazing. Everything from the bar to the room was exceptional. Loved it.
Be the first to ReplyI had never stayed at a St.
Regis property before but I knew the brand name and had a conception that it was 5 stars all the way. I was originally booked at the Hotel Danieli, also a Marriott property. After reading multiple reviews I decided that if we were paying the same military rate why would I take a chance on getting a dingy old room at the Danieli. I was so glad that we changed to the St. Regis. I told my husband that the military rate gets you an interior room with no view but that everything about the room would be quality. The military rate here is phenomenal relative to regular room rates. We arrived by water taxi straight to the lobby and this being my first time in Venice, I was blown away by the experience. We checked in before 10am and observed the glitterati dining in the outdoor restaurant terrace on the waterfront. I'm not one to care too much about my appearance but I must say I felt slightly out of place with the fellow patrons (turns out it was a rolex conference with lots of models staying at the hotel so what do you expect!)Back to check in...we were taken to a check in area with comfortable seats to relax in while they proceeded with the check in. The agent was quite professional in the manner with which she offered us a room with a view of the canal with a "small upcharge." Actually it was quite reasonable at an additional $150/night. I didn't need it but my husband said, "how often are you in Venice?!" We were able to get checked in right away which was wonderful. We were thrilled with the view of the canal, the fairly large room by European standards and the fancy bathroom. Unfortunately when we went to bed that night we had a few issues. The A/C didn't work and the lights couldn't be turned off. At 11pm they sent an electrician to help us with the AC and the lights but he couldn't turn them out either! So he proceeded to unwire the one lamp. In the morning my husband went to speak to the front desk about the issues and they felt terrible and said they would move us to another room. We came back that afternoon and they had already moved our bags to the new room. We entered the foyer and were literally floored because they had moved us to a huge suite! I looked up the rate and it was more than 7xs what we were paying! There were chocolates and a bottle of prosecco and the view was astonishing. The bathroom was a suite in itself! I doubt I'll ever be able to stay in a room like this again unless I win the lottery. While staying here we did check out the bar. The prices were pretty high but the service was phenomenal. They even provided complimentary olives and nuts and kept replenishing them which amortized the drink prices. We loved the decor of the hotel and found it's location to be perfect. We also discovered that they provided a free water taxi to Murano for glass making tours. This is another huge perk. We did pop over to the Hotel Danieli to check out their lobby. It was definitely older and more traditional but I'm sure if I'm back in Venice I would rebook the St. Regis.
Be the first to ReplyThis visit initially put me in a quandary.
Next trip to Venice, do I stay at the St Regis or at the Danieli? They are sister properties, so neither should feel insulted by my indecision. Both have amazing bars, but the St Regis has a slight lead. It's only a slightly larger space but has more staff. Thus, service is more attentive. I was disappointed by not being able to eat at the restaurant in the St Regis, Gio's, the evening that I checked in because I didn't have a reservation. It seemed like the restaurants at the Danieli always managed to make room for guests of the hotel. The design of the rooms at the St Regis is contemporary despite being in four old palace buildings. They have done a remarkable job of updating and remodeling. The staff is marvelous, friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The one minor exception was breakfast on my first morning during which the restaurant seemed significantly understaffed. However, breakfast on my second day was up to par with everything else. Yet on the third morning, breakfast service was back to being slow again but the eggs Benedict were excellent. My room was sparkling clean. The bathroom is large, especially for Venice. The shower was something I had not seen before: two complete shower heads and faucets on opposite walls of the shower box, presumably so that two people could shower in tandem. (1) It's nice that the room had USB ports but; (2) they are positioned so low on the wall and behind the nightstands that they are difficult to access. This aspect of the bedroom design was not well thought out. Alas, an otherwise terrific and 5-Star stay finished poorly and thus at 4 Stars because check out was abominably slow. Five people were waiting to check in or out, yet there was no agent at the desk for more than ten minutes. They were huddled in a back office with some sort of problem. The butlers tried to assist but it seems they didn't have access to the computer system. A couple arrived in line after me but was helped first by a butler who tried to shuttle their bill from and to the back office. They had some issue with over charges to their bill that the butler could not fix. He made notes and said he'd take it to the desk agents but the couple had to leave to catch a water taxi. After waiting 15 minutes with no assistance, my reserved water taxi arrived so I had to leave my key with a butler and hope the bill would be correct when it was emailed to me (it was). Interestingly, the couple who came to the desk after me--but was helped first--had their water taxi reservation for the same time as I did but used it as an excuse to cut in front of me. It's astonishing that this St Regis gets so many things right but check out was such a mess.

Regis Hotel, born of the historic Europa and Regina palaces, has certainly transformed into a very elegant and luxurious hotel.STAFF. The hospitality is incredible. From the moment we arrived and through the duration of our stay, every single hotel staff member was friendly, helpful, attentive, and thoughtful. Every experience had a nice personal touch.FOOD AND WINE. Whether it's room service, dining at the bar, or at the restaurant Gio's, the food is amazing. It is not only artfully prepared, but also delicious and flavorful. Even something as seemingly simple as spaghetti with red sauce was transformed into an other-worldly delight with three tomato sauces -- spaghetti ai tre pomodori. And that's just one of the many dishes we've tried at the hotel. They also have a lovely selection of wines from all over Italy, and particularly from the nearby Veneto and Friuli regions. One more thing: every evening they offer a Champagne Sabrage. It's a nice offering for all the guests who want to enjoy some sparkling wine and watch the sunset, and try their hand at opening a champagne bottle with a saber!ROOMS. One word: spectacular. We were here on an extended stay of ten nights here and were fortunate enough to receive a wonderful upgrade on our stay. Our rooms were beautiful and had incredible views of the Canal Grande and the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute. The rain shower heads and St. Regis bath products were also fantastic. The rooms were tended well by housekeeping and the turndown service makes the room very inviting for a good night's rest. It is something we especially enjoyed during our first night while adjusting to the time zone difference, as well as after long days of excursions.LOCATION. This hotel is situated on the Grand Canal with a spectacular view of the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute. You can experience beautiful sunrises and sunsets at this hotel.FIVE STARS. This place is very deserving of a five-star rating. From their exquisite food and wine, to their incredibly friendly and hardworking staff, I highly recommend this place.Grazie mille, St. Regis Venice!
