Beautiful food
We had a drink in the bar and then dinner in the rooftop restaurant. It was really brilliant. I booked to attend through a reciprocal membership. The place is really classic and felt really special to attend. The rooftop restaurant has excellent service. The views are lovely. We sat outside. The food was gorgeous. I had the prawns to start which were just delicious. I then had a Caesar salad which was lovely. A really lovely evening.

Outstanding traditional club in centre of New York. Rooms well appointed and super clean. Awesome dinner on roof restaurant. Fabulous gym. Very, very quiet. We sometimes forgot we were next to Grand Central Station! Staff were very friendly and super helpful and professional. Thank you

Good: spacious rooms. We stayed in standard queen and double queen bed. Staff very courteous Poor: soundproofing of windows poor for 16th floor for street noise and sound proofing of doors poor also. Can hear when any door on the corridor is opened Curtains also have major light seep through issues on the edge

best university club in NYC, guest rooms comfortable and reassuringly not of-the-moment, easy conversations to be had here and there, nice facilities... i have been here many times and expect to continue
Be the first to ReplyGreat lecture and then a nice meal
You need to go with a member to get in. They check vax cards and IDs. There was a conference by a Yale professor on Cancel Culture from 6:30-7:30. Quite interesting and with lots of questions and debate from the audience. And then we went to the Tap Room for a lovely steak dinner. In all, a nice evening out!

Yale Club is an impressive structure that has become an institution in New York City. Next door to Grand Central Station, the property is a special haven and place of you are looking for a traditional club that has been tastefully updated.
Be the first to ReplySexist - don't expect service if you are a woman
The hotel is substandard. Defining the room as “well-appointed” is a gross exaggeration. The rooms were drab & dated. Even the linens had seen better days. Bar & restaurant service was atrocious. The staff acted as if they are doing a favor. Lack of incentive for customer service may be attributed to the automatic 18% tip. An unaccompanied woman will not get timely service. In wedding attire we 5 women sat at the bar for over 20 minutes to get waited on. The bartender took care of every man, including snacks, before heading our way. He then proceeded to throw a charge sheet at each of us without even a greeting. When my husband came up he was attended to immediately. One of our women friends waited 20 minutes in the restaurant for BREAKFAST BUFFET! I waited in line for the concierge to ask a question. He addressed the men behind & beside me who arrived after I did. Apparently since it didn’t appear that I would be attending the Gentleman’s dinner he couldn’t be bothered to address me. When he finally did he was unapologetic. Other women I spoke to had similar experiences. If this level of customer service, particularly toward women guests, is indicative of the ideology the Yale Club, they will become extinct. Over 50% of the students enrolled at Yale in the fall of 2018 were women. This is a private club and at its roots it’s nothing more than old boys club. There is a substantial dependence on non-member revenue and I will walk elsewhere with my wallet.

....which was why we stayed here as it has a reciprocal arrangement ! Same grandiose atmosphere with an American slant - our suite was a little tired and could do with a makeover but public rooms were on point 👍🏼 We were so high up that we had a nice quite night and dining / breakfast were great in rooftop restaurant. Decent location in midtown and a short stroll to Bloomingdales for our teenage daughter ! I’d stay again
Be the first to ReplyPerfect place for end of year Holiday party
I just attended a end of year party and had a great time. The food was perfect. The entire crew from the security in the lobby to the bartenders mixing drinks was professional and friendly. The building is beautiful and right across from Grand Central station.

We luckily have a reciprocal membership through my alma mater so we stay here whenever we are in NYC. Good price and great location right across the street from GC Terminal. Room are very nice and lovely staff who will help you with the subway routes and other things we tourists need to know.
Be the first to ReplyHeaven in New York City
Guests have to Yale Alumni to stay at this exclusive and grand establishment. It was heaven in the middle of New York City. Perfect location, right across from Grand Central Station and walking distance to the main attractions of New York. Close to stores and restaurants. Easy transport access. Rooms were clean and well stocked and equipped. Not very big rooms but this is in the middle of New York City.
Be the first to ReplyAttended a meet&greet event for Iona College
My wife and I recently attended an event put on by Iona College that was hosted at The Yale Club. It was a meet and greet event for the athletic coaches and also to recognize long time supporters of the program. The location could not have been easier. A simple train ride to Grand Central and just across the street from the exit. Our event was hosted on the third floor, I believe. It was a medium sized room, long and a bit narrow with a large bar to one side and windows looking out from two sides of the room. The room was a mixture of wood and stone with lots of Yale and sporting motifs. The staff from the initial entry, to the servers, to the facilities crews were pleasant and efficient.
Be the first to ReplyA Haven in the City
Old fashioned - yes! Dated in parts - yes! Limited Facilities - yes! ( especially as gym/pool closed for renovation at time of visit). BUT, BUT, BUT....a haven in the city, a club like atmosphere to escape into, wonderful lounges, gorgeous library...and an iveralll sense of being. The NY club of Yale University, it has a hotel embedded within it. Great value for money, a sense of history, and of course an amazing sense of academia!! The rooftop bar and restaurant are a charm, and the food excellent. Service is ‘traditionsl’, which is perfect for the setting!! First class!!!
