Sicilian enigma.
Venue was popular on a Tuesday night. Went for the Sicilia regional menu. The Octopus salad with potatoes, celery, parsley, capers and wild rocket with Sicilian lemon was too sharp for my taste, too many capers. The Mezze maniche pasta with slow-cooked aubergines, tomatoes, basil and ricotta salata lacked the natural sweetness that tomatoes are meant to bring. Slow-cooked rabbit with red and yellow peppers, olives and white wine with braised greens and potato purée was flawed because the rabbit was dry. (They allowed me to choose another dish). Traditional Sicilian cassata with ricotta, chocolate, candied orange and lemon with pistachio gelato was OK but the gelato was too sharp for my taste. The Planeta wines included in the £70 menu price were rather underwhelming. Not a good night.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing Italian Restaurant
If you love Italian food and wine along with fabulous cocktails and service of the highest order from one of the very best front of house teams then a visit to Theo Randall at the Intercontinental is an absolute must. This restaurant has easily become a real favourite of ours and after yet another excellent dining experience on saturday night it’s not hard to see why. It all began on arrival when we received a lovely welcome before being escorted to the bar area to enjoy an aperitif. Here we were greeted by Astrit who is definitely one of the best mixologists around. We got to enjoy two of his new creations. The first was the South Slope with panarea gin , aperol , lillet blanc , mandarin , lemon and bitters and the other was the Apollo with havana 7 and kraken rum , cointreau , coffee , pistachio , vanilla and citrus. These were two amazing cocktails and a great way to start the evening. We then headed to our table and were met by Dorina , Brigida and our waiter for the evening Francisco who provided excellent service throughout the evening. On this occasion we decided to go for the a la carte menu something we hadn’t done for a while due to previous visits where we’ve loved the regional tasting menu’s and weekend brunch. We started by enjoying some Zucchini Fritte along with Focaccia and tomato crostini while finishing off our Romantica cocktail. ANTIPASTI - Now to begin the food experience which started with two fantastic antipasti dishes. My wife opted for the Tartare di Tonno with yellowfin tuna tartare , pangrattato , rocket , capers , and amalfi lemons. I was in heaven with my Calamari in Padella with pan fried squid , cannellini beans , chilli , anchovies , parsley and chopped rocket. These were paired beautifully with a Planeta Alastro 2021 wine from Sicily. PRIMI - We now moved on to the pasta section with the first being a Ravioli di Aragosta with dorset blue lobster , tomato and shellfish broth. My pasta dish was the one I’d seen on Saturday Kitchen that morning and it was delicious. The Ravioli di Tartufo e patate con asparagi bianchi filled with potato , winter black truffle , white asparagus , butter and parmesan. Paired once again with another excellent wine from the Planeta winery. (sorry about quality of pic). SECONDI - It was now time to move on to the main course and easily one of the best monkfish dishes I ever had the pleasure of eating. The Coda di Rospo with cornish monkfish , charlotte potatoes , fennel , thyme , garlic , crispy prosciutto , white wine , capers and parsley. My wife enjoyed the Fegato di Vitello a pan fried calves liver with pancetta , sage , wild mushrooms and spinach. Paired with a Planeta La Segreta 2020 Nero D’Avola. DOLCI - Now for desserts. Here my wife opted for the Cheese Course where for myself I just couldn’t decide between the Amalfi Lemon Tart and the Ricotta Cheesecake with pears , sultanas marinated in marsala and vanilla so I ordered both and what an absolute pleasure they were to. These were paired with a Planeta Passito di Noto 2019. We finished with coffee and petit fours to bring to an end another fantastic dining experience at Theo Randall at the Intercontinental. The food was amazing , the wine was excellent , the cocktails were stunning and the service was impeccable as ever. So yes I would highly recommend a visit and it won’t be too long before I’m back again. Thank You Theo , Dorina , Astrit , Francisco , Brigida and all the team for a fabulous italian evening and look forward to seeing you all again soon. Ciao for now.

We visited the Theo Randell because of the chef’s reputation and the fact I love Italian cooking. We booked for lunch. The restaurant is typical If any large hotel with very little or no character, certainly nothing in the restaurant that indicated it was Italian. There were no other guests for the entire time we were there which we found somewhat disconcerting, sitting alone in a large restaurant. We were offered 3 menus: a business lunch, a Sicilian taster and an a la carte. We initially selected the Sicilian menu but as my wife is intolerant to red wine we asked if we could substitute the red with equivalent whites. After checking in the kitchen we were told this wasn’t possible which I find absolutely amazing for a restaurant of this calibre. We opted for the business lunch which was good but not exceptional. Would I return? I very much doubt it.
Be the first to ReplyTheo Randall cooked my dinner!
Theo Randall cooked my dinner! What else is there to say. We had the Sicilian regional menu on this visit. Octopus, Aubergine and Rabbit were the lead ingredients. I love everything about this place - 5 star hotel, service is beyond excellent, menu, ingredients and cooking are perfect. You might be put off with it being in a hotel, but this is what hotel food should be. Just go and let Theo and his team look after you. Can’t wait for April for the new regional menu.
Be the first to ReplyBest dinner out I’ve had in
Best dinner out I’ve had in ages. Got invited here by a friend. I must say a great menu. Every dish was cooked to perfection. Best Italian food I’ve had in london for many a year. I also thought it reasonably priced for the quality of the food. As to be expected the wine is expensive but we found a very nice bottle of red from puglia. As the cheapest at £44 we were a tad concerned but it was exceptionally good. The staff were lovely, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Will definitely return and could well be a fairly regular place to go
Be the first to ReplyA first rate Italian restaurant
Are it here for the second time, both times everything about the place has been absolutely perfect: from the setting, the first rate, friendly and knowledgeable waiting staff and the excellent food. I had the Tuscan tasting menu with wine on my second visit and not only was everything delicious, it was very reasonably priced for what was served and the location it was in. Highly recommended.
Be the first to Replylike being in Tuscany
Two of us went for the tasting menu, tastes of Tuscany, superb, cant wait to find out what the next region will be, the wine pairing was very accurate, above all the ragu was memorable.
Be the first to ReplyThank you Ngawa Shfrph - our wonderful breakfast bar chef
Wonderful Service - tasty breakfast Was here for 5 days on a business trip. Thank you to NGawashfrph, who is the breakfast bar chef - he was so quietly pleasant to us and cooked us fresh delicious eggs every morning.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent. Go for the tasting menu
We had the tasting menu plus cocktails (cost about £100 a person). Very good value ... Exquisite food with generous and well thought out paired wines. Service excellent.

Went for lunch for a friend’s birthday. Polite and attentive but NOT overbearing service. Wide choice of healthy Italian recipes . Delicious, fresh food promptly served. We will both be returning very soon. Thank you.
Be the first to ReplyMemorable evening
Outstanding food and service. We went for a wedding anniversary celebration and had the regional tasting menu. The food was exceptional and the wine pairings excellent. The service was impeccable and attentive. It was a great touch to be introduced toTheo in the kitchen- a very memorable evening and can’t wait to go back!
Be the first to ReplyBreakfast at Theo. It’s OK.
I had a breakfast meeting at the Intercontinental, so we ate at Theo. Overall it was adequate but not great. I had the waffles with fruit and syrup. My colleague had some eggs, sausage and toast. The food was OK. The waffles were a little undercooked but otherwise fine. My colleague had to promo the wait staff a few times as is order was delivered incomplete. Clearly it’s convenient if staying at the hotel, but I am sure there are other/better choices nearby.
Be the first to ReplySuperb!
Celebrity chef is an overused term however how many so called celebrity chefs actually cook in their restaurants? Theo Randall seems to be the exception! Always on site overseeing the kitchen. Superb food, excellent service from the team (an Albanian girl was fantastic!). 10/10 doesn’t do justice! Excellent evening, good, service etc! Thank you.
Be the first to ReplyThe Italian regional cuisine menu is exceptional
We opted for the regional Italian menu - Sicilian. £65 a head including wine pairing. A bargain for this quality restaurant. The sommelier talked about each wine in detail - and he did know his wines. The food was exquisite. The service a little patchy but maybe because we had a trainee waitress.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food but double check your bottle of wine before being served
Let me start off by saying the food was delicious and the service provided by our waitress was of high quality. My rating of this restaurant would have been 5 stars had it not been for our interaction with the wine sommelier. After reviewing their wine list, we selected a 2017 chianti reserva. Not a super fancy bottle of wine but acclaimed for being a reserve bottle from the winery. He brought out the bottle, showed it to us, described it as it was written on the wine list. Seeing as we were at a Michellin star restaurant, we did not feel the need to closely inspect the bottle to ensure the correct bottle of wine had been brought to our table. The wine we were served was very pleasant so I promptly looked it up so I could make note of where to purchase more. This is when it was revealed he had served us a lesser quality wine than the one we had selected. If it was a mistake, he should have come right out and apologized. But he did not. When we mentioned the discrepancy to him, he continued with the lie until we explained to him the difference between the wines. He left to check his wine list/notes and came back to tell us we were correct. Either he does not know his wines or he thought he’d be able to sell us a lesser quality wine under the disguise of a more expensive bottle. He told us the wine we were served would be less expensive, but that was not reflected on the bill. We did not fuss about the price, we paid, and left.
Be the first to ReplyGorgeous place
This place is great, had to leave a glowing review! Just perfect for a lazy Sunday lunch. We went to celebrate a special occasion as a family and had such a wonderful time. The food was delicious, setting and atmosphere gorgeous and staff absolutely brilliant. Will be back as often as I can -highly recommend to all!
Be the first to ReplyFantastic Evening
Had been meaning to visit Theo Randall’s for some time - have seen him regularly on Saturday Kitchen and his love for Italian food is clear to see and he seems a really nice guy. Passionate about his food. Visited on Saturday and chose the special Regional Menu ( an absolute steal at £65 including wine parings for 4 courses and it changes region each month) The whole evening was fantastic the staff were attentive, knowledgable and professional without being over bearing and the food was outstanding with great wines that were new to me. The atmosphere was professional but relaxed the clientele were a broad range from families to celebrating couples. The whole evening was perfect which is not always the case when eating out in London and we were also fortunate enough to meet Theo who was exactly as you see him on TV and was kind enough to chat to us despite being in the middle of service . We have already booked for next month - highly recommended you will not be disappointed and exceptional value for money
Be the first to ReplyFabulous Sunday brunch
Totally exceeded all our expectations. The restaurant was very quiet due to the Queens Jubilee celebrations but for us this was a bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed talking to all the lovely waitresses Sama and Dorina who talked us through the menu. We were never rushed during any course. All four courses were fantastic plus the added bonus of the included Prosecco,Negroni and Aperol Spritz. We loved the Negroni ! I think this was terrific value. The icing on the cake for me was Theo Randall was there cooking. I didn’t expect that on such a quiet Sunday afternoon. What a lovely man and a joy to meet. I am really looking forward to returning to try the regional tasting menus or another weekend brunch.
Be the first to ReplyVery enjoyable!
First time at Theo Randall IHG . The attraction for us was Regional tasting menu and I was very happy with our visit. Welcome was friendly and professional, shown to our seats and offered menu choices. Sommelier checked if we had any questions. Waitress also checked if we where ok. They kindly changed the courses that didn’t suit my wife in fact they did way more than we expected. Food and wine ( imo) were excellent quality and value , especially the pasta with seafood ! Very attentive service from all staff that served us. Only reason it’s not 5 star - I had emailed to advise my wife had dietary requirements only to be told it was a set tasting menu and it couldn’t be changed. Which turned out to be quite the contrary to our experience when we dined. The chef and staff were very obliging to our small adjustments. Overall I would definitely return ! Very good value.
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding Italian food at its best 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👨 🍳
I’ve been eating here for several months now trying all the different regional menu’s that change each month taking you on a food journey around Italy without having to get on a plane. Just a shame you don’t get the suntan with it 😂😂 But you certainly get the best cocktails 🍸🍹🥂🍷🥃and the best value for money for the service, food and drink 👍OUTSTANDING 👍 The À la carte menu has an abundance of good choices they really get the taste buds going and the wine pairings really finish off the dishes to bring out the best . I don’t think you would find any high end restaurant in London that have a really really good core TEAM of people as they do here keep up the good work your all amazing.👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Be the first to ReplyRegional Tasting Menu - Calabria
It was so good to be back at Theo Randall at the Intercontinental where we would enjoy another fabulous evening of the finest Italian food and wine. When we finally made our first visit back in October last year we had such an amazing dining experience that simply made us want to come back as soon as possible.
After enjoying the a la carte menu on our last visit we were very interested to try the very popular Regional Tasting Menu which for the month of March would be from Calabria. This is a four course menu with wine pairings for the first three courses priced at sixty five pounds. I now have to say that after experiencing this first hand it’s the best value for money menu considering the quality of the food and wine you will ever have the pleasure enjoying.
Now let’s move on to our latest visit which started with a friendly welcome on arrival before being escorted to our table. We started the evening with two fabulous cocktails an Old Fashioned No.2 and the Martini d’Amalfi while we looked at the menu’s. These consisted of the a la carte or our choice for the evening the regional tasting menu from Calabria.
We then received a lovely surprise as from the kitchen came Theo himself to firstly welcome us back and then just have a nice friendly chat. Then before heading back to prepare for service he would send out some complimentary Zucchini Fritte which arrived along with the Bruschetta and Focaccia.
Before moving on to the first course we couldn’t resist ordering the Salumi Misti antipasti which was schiena , lardo di colonnata , fennel salami , capocollo with marinated vegetable “agro dolce”.
Now it was time for our first course which was the Antipasto - Polpette di Melanzane - Crispy aubergines with cappocolla salami , shaved fennel , rocket salad and parsley that was absolutely delicious. This was paired beautifully with a Greco di Tufo DOCG Devon Caggiano 2019 brought to us by Giovanna who looked after us superbly throughout the evening.
Our second course would be the Primo - Pasta alla Silana - Pasta with slow cooked tomato italian sausage , pecorino and nduja sauce which was one of the best pasta dishes I’ve eaten in a long time. The delightful wine pairing for this dish was a Borgo Selene Nero d’Avola / Nerello Mascalese 2020.
Now it was time for the main course Secondo and I have to say it was stunning. Coniglio alla Calabrese - slow cooked rabbit with red peppers , pancetta , tomato and fennel. Paired beautifully with a Tufarello Vigneti Canosini “Nero di Troia” 2019 that will live long in the memory.
We then finished with an absolute treat. Dolce - Torta di Noci a calabrian walnut torte with chocolate gelato that was simply heaven on a plate. This came along with a complimentary Passito di Nota sweet wine to round of a fantastic evening.
We finished with a coffee to bring to an end a fabulous Italian dining experience and one we’ll be looking to repeat again soon. I really would recommend a visit here as the quality of produce is stunning and I now see why the regional tasting menu’s are very popular.
Thank You Theo and all your team and looking forward to seeing you all again soon. Ciao
Excellent food and good portion sizes
We visited Theo Randall's restaurant on a Friday night. The restaurant appeared to be fully booked which is always positive. The staff were all very friendly; however after being seated it took a really long time for us to be provided with a drinks menu and be served initially. After this they were quite attentive. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were generous. We felt the secondo we ordered (guineafowl) was a bit of a let-down and was incredibly greasy, although still flavourful.
Overall a good restaurant experience, but we found the restaurant lacked a bit of character just due to the size and decor, and I think I'd enjoy it more for a lunch.
Fantastic food, fantastic staff & family friendly.
Went to London for a few days with my wife and 2 young children, we were recommended the Theo Randell at the Intercontinental London Park Lane, we went for an evening meal, and from the time we walked into the hotel we were greeted by friendly concierge, the food was amazing and the staff were excellent, especially with my children, they even got them gifts, I highly recommended this restaurant, also the staff are a credit to the restaurant, will 100% be going back!!!

Solid.
Lost some character due to pandemic. At 7:45 the dining room almost empty but it goes get later patrons. Lost all the staff which used to be italian and well trained. Most of the staff now inexperienced young people but super friendly and they tried really hard. Moreover the offer is a 4 course seasonal menu with 3 glasses of (cheap) wine for 60 pounds. Nice ambience, nice toilets etc. Already booked next month's seasonal menu.
Highly recommended!
Outstanding evening. Lovely Italian food and relaxed atmosphere. They recommended to share the Cheese Souffle, but next time we will get 1 each - delicious! Great service from the start, including an unsolicited invite into to the kitchen to meet Theo. Engaging, interested and humble, he is exactly like you see on the television.
