I've been here a handful of times through the years and every time I come is a real treat. Meat is always of quality and so is the service. My favorite part of korean bbq here is adding fried rice to all leftover meat and juices. Delicious! I'd totally recommend it and it's very affordable.
Be the first to ReplyI don't know what's happening.
Did the world all suddenly doesn't care about customer service? I feel sad to keep writing bad reviews. The food was not good, they barely ever came to check on us and also I even went somewhere and came back lol they didn't even know I was missing for 30 min. I came back and paid so that was nice of me

Needed samgyupsal after a vacation and saw the reviews on yelp. Place was unique with the cast iron grill, ice bowl for cold noodles and raw crabs. Had the pork belly and pork neck bbq, and finished it off with fried rice. Absolutely authentic Korean food and made us feel like we were in Korea. In the end, I left my backpack there with my passports. Called owner and she stayed and waited after closing for me to go back there to get it. Thank you for the wonderful food and gesture. Would definitely go back.

I heard great reviews from this place but the taste is ordinary. The owner of this place is the same as the restaurant next door that sells crab. This restaurant specialize in pork belly however it tasted like any other pork belly. There was nothing special about this restaurant. The cold noodle in ice bowl was delicious but I think they reuse the ice bowl .... Not worth the hype. I would eat next door since there is much variety of food and you can eat pork belly there too.

Be the first to ReplyI came here last Sunday with my boyfriend.
We originally wanted to go next door to get the raw crab dish but I think they share the same owner now! This place has the *SAME* raw crab dish. (It is advertised on their store fronts)Was excited to try this place since it seems like more KBBQ options. Very homey vibes when you enter and it starts to get packed pretty quickly. We got the raw crab, the cold noodles (in the ice bowl) and an order of the Kalbi. I did not have time to look at Yelp before we ordered or else we would've known to get pork belly instead! We were originally thinking of getting both but didn't think we would be that hungry. Apparently they marinate their pork belly in house and specialize in pork belly!! Will need to come back and try this. The kalbi was a miss for us.. the flavor wasn't really that good. I'd rather get this from Hmart! But the raw crab was goood and packed w roe. The cold noodles were so refreshing and flavorful. Really liked these two dishes and will be back for them!
Be the first to ReplyThis is a solid mom and pop shop.
You can expect to be greeted warmly to your table, and then bid farewell with smiles and bows. Come here if you and some old friends or family need a place to sit and relax with food sizzling in the background. Don't come here thinking it's one of the best KBBQs in town - you can impress your date in fancier KBBQ spots in Flushing. Would I come back? Short answer is yes - I still want to try their cold noodles! The staff were really friendly, nothing went wrong with our orders. Would this place be worth a trip out of your way? No because there are many competitive or better options out there if you are just looking to taste delicious Korean food.
Be the first to ReplyHm, I'm not sure what just happened.
My wife and I are from Northern Virginia which has excellent Korean food but we were visiting Flushing with high hopes for the Korean dining this area has to offer. We got the black pig pork belly and the marinated short rib, and the meal before tip was $68. We walked away 45 minutes later after the worst Korean meal we've both had in our lives. I'm not usually a harsh critic but I'm not using hyperbole either. We were more confused than upset because we heard about this place through the Michelin guide which has been relatively reliable. There were other patrons in the restaurant when we went during prime dinner time on the weekend but we kept on looking around mid meal curious as to how the restaurant was still in business. The banchan lacked seasoning and flavor, the meat quality was poor, and sauces and marinades hardly tasted Korean. I would recommend looking elsewhere for Korean barbecue.
Be the first to ReplyWow. I've read all their reviews, but you really don't know
Wow. I've read all their reviews, but you really don't know until you dine in. The pork belly and cold noodles were uhhhmazing! We stumbled across this place as it is only a couple blocks away from our home... wow wow wow I have a new go-to spot now. Also ordered the beef tongue, but it was more chewy than I anticipated. Can't wait to come back again!
Be the first to ReplySuch a small restaurant but all their meats were packed
Such a small restaurant but all their meats were packed with a bunch of flavors. Definitely marinated with love, unlike many other KBBQ spots in the area. We ordered everything on the menu, and not one item disappointed. We ordered the ice bowl noodles and it literally came in an ice bowl. Totally recommend this spot. Prices are very reasonable as well!

Be the first to Replythis place is honestly a hidden gem, very convenient right
this place is honestly a hidden gem, very convenient right across from the LIRR. service is 10/10, the workers are so attentive, making sure that your meal is enjoyable. everything is fairly priced, definitely worth the quality of meat youre being served. i loooved the ice bowl naeng myeon, so refreshing. overall, wonderful & everyone is friendly. this is becoming my go to for kbbq.
Be the first to ReplyMy and my boyfriend were craving for cold noodle.
So we decided to go this restaurant. We ordered soondubu, Korean kimchi pancake, and this noodle. My boyfriend ate all cold noodle, and I ate all songdubu. I felt nothing the day after we ate in this restaurant. But my boyfriend got severe stomach problem after eating this noodle. I think the ice bowl is not clean. All ice bowls are recycled I think???? So this caused him the upset stomach. He went to doctor and asked for some medicine. Don't know whether those medicine would help. I'll give update tomorrow. The owner is nice, but she should really take care about the food problem and the overall restaurant environment especially under pandemic.Update: my boyfriend has been sick for a week, he went to go see a doctor. Doctor gave him some Chinese med to heal and required him to eat congee for a week. It sounds so bad.
Be the first to ReplyIf you're looking for a refreshing bowl of cold noodles on
If you're looking for a refreshing bowl of cold noodles on a sweltering hot summer day, look no further because this place hits the spot. The kimchi naengmyun is served in an ice bowl and keeps the noodle cold at all times. Broth isnt really vinegary enough for my liking, but you can ask for vinegar and mustard on the side to adjust to your liking. Everything else is cooked perfectly.
Be the first to ReplyTop tier kbbq in Flushing.
OG stone grills and limited menu give it a real authentic feel. The marinated eel and spicy pork bulgogi were unreal, the menu offers other fun options like duck & octopus. Service was great it felt like eating at someone's house. Tables seat 4

Though it may not be the same animal it once was, I still have high regard for Tong Sam Gyup Goo Yi. Their reputation as a pork belly specialty bbq house hasn't gone unnoticed (#1) and they've built a strong following for KBBQ enthusiasts all throughout the area. I would venture to say that their samgyupsal is a must order when coming here. When indoor dining was still a thing, I loved their pseudo intimate interior and their "metal shield" grill setup. It was always best to show up in with a group of 4 max and their ventilation wasn't enough to keep the odor off the clothes, but certainly enough from seeing beyond the smokey haze. The lively atmosphere was a draw on any weekday night and when they were on point, there would be a wait on the weekends. Currently they have some outdoor seating out front and in the back. They pride themselves so much with the samgyupsal that they note the meat has been marinated over the course of several days to overcome the meat impurities and pork odor. I will say the slabs of porkiness are impressive and I would also emphasize that pork jowl is a must order. The banchan isn't particularly exciting, but I absolutely love the grilled fried rice at the end of the meal. The soakage from the burnt porky bits, juices, and such produce a smokiness in the rice with just a hint of salt from the added seaweed.I think their strongest asset is the service. Even if the food doesn't wow me from time to time, it would always be the service that would lure me and my group back since KBBQ'ing is such a communal, social experience. I also entrust them to handle the grilling and serving from start to finish since they're really that good. The only thing I'm good at is eating everything they throw my way, which I hope I get to repeat at some point in the 2021._____________(#1) It is practically their namesake. Literally.
