Dessert in the Cafe
We came to see a show and wanted to grab a sweet before. We ended up sitting in the Cafe' area. The ambiance was nice. Quiet and beautiful. Great for conversations. Our server was very nice and answered all of our questions. My husband had the gelato- it's a must try. It was very creamy. They make it in-house. The serving size is two scoops, which means that you get to try two flavors. I had the Spumoni Tartufo which is gelato, shaped into a ball and coated with chocolate. It's served with a pistachio sponge. It was amazing and just what we wanted. I will have to go again the next time we're near Water Tower Place.

Torali is a fairly new, contemporary restaurant (opened in 2017), located on the 12th floor of The Ritz Carlton Hotel on Pearson St in Chicago. The restaurant has three main dining areas -- the Italian steakhouse (the restaurant), Torali Bar, and Torali Cafe, the latter was closed in the mid-day hour that day, so I was seated in the sparkling Torali Bar area, since after a long and busy morning in the city I just wanted a cup of really fresh-made, delicious cofee. I was seated momentarily at a very cozy lounge table by an attentive, friendly bartender, and a very hospitable, easy-going and amiable server Beth also appeared right away. Cappuccino was served timely, and it was just perfect. The bar lounge area has a very relaxing, stylish ambiance, it is appointed in a classic, grand style, combined with a modern, subtle interior decor, that makes one feel comfortable and relaxed. The Torali Menu looks very tempting to come back -- and have a proper meal at this upscale restaurant. In the meantime, thanks for a tasty Tall Cappuccino and superb service!

We had a lovely dinner at Torali. The food was very good and reasonably priced. The drinks were very good. The decor is average. The restaurant was a mob scene. It is located in the Ritz Carlton Chicago.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Italian themed restaurant inside Ritz Carleton Hotel
Torali is an excellent Italian themed restaurant inside the Ritz Carleton Hotel. I had the grilled salmon with mixed vegetables, which was very good. Others in our family had the carboni spaghetti. A good choice, particularly if you're already staying in this hotel.
Be the first to ReplyGreat wine list, good but pricey food
This restaurant has a nice space off the lobby of the Chicago Ritz. I have never seen it crowded (stayed in Ritz multiple times for annual conference just restarted!), but also not empty. We had no problems with a last minute reservation for 7. We started with a bunch of apps, all pretty good. My favorite was a lobster brocchetta. The cheese board was nice, and the lamb meatballs were good but very spicy. Salmon a bit overcooked even though I specifically asked for it rare. Interesting desserts. The best was the wine list, very extensive. including selection of fine wines by the glass, and not too overpriced compared to the food. Overall, you need the Marriott elite discount (10-20+% depending on status) or a company to pay.

We so enjoyed the pancakes and bacon at this restaurant. The orange juice was truly FRESH!!! Usually we are told it is and it's out of a box. Our waiter the first day was extraordinary. His name is Albert. He was knowledgeable, bright and attentive.

We had a lovely lunch at Torali in the Ritz Carlton in Chicago. The food was delicious, the hostess and the servers were charming and professional. The decor is very pleasant. Torali has only recently opened for all 7 days and is getting a large crowd yet. The location is great. We recommend Torali
Be the first to ReplyTorali Bar and Rooftop - just perfect for a late-night rendezvous
My wife and I were downtown for a "staycation" and, after walking up an eerily-quiet Michigan Ave to Water Tower Place, we decided to relive part of our young adult-hood and have a drink at the bar upstairs at the Ritz Carlton hotel there. It'd been 35 years since our last visit (we'd moved out of the area, moving back a few years ago) and we'd had fond memories of the times spent there, so we were eager to see what it was like these days. We arrived about 9pm on a Saturday night and were a bit concerned about how they were managing COVID-related things, but the place looked very well-attended to (although many guests were without masks - not the service staff, though!) and so we spent a minute reacquainting ourselves with the space. A LOT has changed, but it was still quite lovely. We walked around to find that the roof deck was still open, so we asked the waiter (a great guy named Camilo) whether he'd serve us out there and he agreed to as it was our wedding anniversary and because we looked friendly, I guess... The bar menu was pretty impressive, and I chose a flatbread pizza made with prosciutto, scamorza cheese, apricot and arugula while my wife chose a house Caesar salad. The bar was fully-stocked, so I had a martini with The Botanist Gin (yum) and she had a dram of a really tasty Basil Hayden Dark Rye whiskey, which we both nursed while our food was being prep'd. We went outside - we had the entire roof deck to ourselves and the space heaters kept us cozy - and looked out over this beautiful city (it's a really impressive sight). The food arrived after a short wait and, for bar food, the items we'd ordered were really top-notch. The flatbread was perfect, and the salad had REAL hand-made egg-and-anchovy dressing that I was more than happy to trade a bit of pizza for. The service was really attentive and our waiter - the great guy that he was - surprised us when we came inside afterwards with a bit of bubbly to mark our occasion, so we walked away VERY happy that we'd decided to relive a bit of our youth at a place that still goes the extra mile to impress. And, the prices were (IMHO) quite reasonable, too - a bonus. If you're looking for a nice place to spend a couple of hours while in the city, I can recommend this place highly.
Be the first to ReplyUpscale. Good food. Pricy!
We met up with some friends for lunch at Torali. The lunch menu doesn't offer a great deal of choices but still seems to have something for everyone. We ordered the cheese board, the gnocchi, salmon and the grilled cheese panini. As expected, considering where it is, it's a wee bit on the expensive side. But the food is very good so worth it for an occasional treat. Service was great. Our water glasses never remained less than full for more than a minute! Torali is just off the Ritz's lobby which has been updated beautifully since our last time here.
Be the first to ReplyWow, Great Lamb
I ate here on a whim after a long day of travel. The lamb was excellent!! Very good when prepared medium. I ordered the spinach side and a Barbera D’Alba which was also very good.
