Toscano Bordentown Reviews from The Last Year
We went on a Monday night to celebrate a birthday.
The restaurant is on the main Bordentown restaurant strip. I've heard that this is one of the better steaks in the area. For a starter, we shared the pear vinegarette salad which was enough to share. It was very tasty where you could taste the sour vinegar, sweet pear, and salt. Great balance. For the main, we ordered a porterhouse steak medium, with garlic mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. The steak was cooked to medium rare which was fine. The char on the steak was perfect! My only suggestion would be slightly more salt. Overall, steak was 8/10. But it was cooked like Peter Luger, broiled and served in butter. The sides were excellent and I would say 9.5/10. We got olive oil cake and tiramisu for dessert. Both were just ok, probably a 6.5/10. I would definitely go back. Wait staff were attentive and great.
Fantastic service!!! Very relaxing ambience.
Oodles of staff to care for your every wish! Lovely fresh bread with butter to start! We split a meatball with salad and it was fantastic and delicious . We also ordered a cheese stuffed eggplant ! Wow! It was so crispy and flavorful ! This place has my absolute favorite meatballs. I loved my fish of the day!! Healthy and flavorful! Cooked to perfection !!! I'm gonna recommend that you try their fresh blueberry garnished cake. It's always a big hit. Absolute heaven! A very special place!!!
This was one the best meals we have ever had.
The specials were unbelievable on top of the already perfect menu. Amanda was our server and she was great! Very personable and gave great recommendations. We would recommend her and we will definitely be back!
Stopped by for dinner on a Monday without a reservation.
Was told "absolutely nothing available" without the receptionist checking. The restaurant had many empty tables and I checked on OpenTable and there were several tables available to book within an hour. The woman at the front didn't offer any other options and immediately went back to playing with her phone.
Wonderful food, and surprisingly reasonable prices.
But the place was so loud, even on a Thursday night, that there was no pleasure in being there. We were crammed in next to a tale of seven, with the predictable results. The situation was not helped be a "host" who didn't even pretend to care.
I'm so upset to be giving this place a bad rating.
Our food was excellent (very pricey, but knew that coming in), but our service was terrible. The waiter we had did not make eye contact with us at all. He gave us a wine menu, we looked it over, then he came back, we thought he'd be taking our order but he just picked up the wine list off our table and handed it to another couple to look at. When he returned it he didn't hand it over, he just tossed it on top of our bread basket and walked away. Still without taking the order. He finally came back, they were out of the wine we asked but he recommended another and we stuck with that. Then he came back over later to read the specials. The specials list is very long. The ENTIRE time he was talking, he was looking around the room at the other tables. He even stopped mid sentence MULTIPLE times to go yell to a busser across the room to "water table 6!" or "put bread on table 2". Right in the middle of his sentence, then would forget what he was saying. All this without even making eye contact, just his head swooshing back and forth looking at other tables. My boyfriend and I were looking wide eyed at each other like "what the f is going on". I'm sitting here thinking that this is nowhere near a fine dining experience. We then order an appetizer, a pasta dish, the special filet mignon which was $75, and a dessert. The filet was AMAZING but again, not worth spending a total of over $200 for bad service! I had not touched my side of mashed potatoes yet because I was full from bread, app, steak, pasta, and he comes over and sort of makes me feel bad for not eating it. "Aren't you going to eat that? It's so good, come on you can't be full yet"...??? I was looking for top notch service and it felt like a diner. I saw him treating the older couple next to us so personable, so it felt like since we were a young couple, he didn't really care to give us the respect. Such a shame because again, food was AMAZING! Might I add, that the people filling our water, running our food to us, were wonderful. It was solely our waiter who was rude. Not coming back.
Holy cow! Just had Toscano's for the first time tonight.
I'm handicapped so I had split what my husband had for his dinner there. I'm so sorry to say this folks but for a billion years I'd tell people the best steak you'll ever have is Peter Luger's. No longer true! This restaurant beats them in spades! We shared a Tomahawk that was, as I understand, on special so if that's what you want, call first. Then I don't even know what this was but I think mashed potatoes with bacon. Holy cow! Well, pig! It was INCREDIBLE! He also brought me a dessert which was a vanilla cake with berries and cream. To be honest, I'm not sure if he meant that for sharing (in just realizing now, about 8 hours after I enjoyed it! By myself!!! (Gotta always save room for dessert! ) I would suggest taking the effort to travel here for dinner. You won't regret it! I saw a guy from New Zealand gave it a 5 star review! I was thinking at first...all the way from NZ? Then I thought to myself. Yup. Worth it! This guy really likes great food! I'd post a picture but all that's left is the bone! Ha ha ha. Too bad the dog's sick! Sorry boy! Man, is he missing out!
We made a reservation and when we got there they marched us
We made a reservation and when we got there they marched us past several empty tables right to the last table in the restaurant by the kitchen! When I asked for another table they said they were very busy and this was the only table they had. My dining partner and I looked at each other and said we didn't want the table and all of a sudden they had another table!!! We are people of color and felt uncomfortable. Our server Ryanna was very polite and professional, but sadly we won't be returning. The food was very good but the rudeness of the host overshadowed everything.
What a lunch!
We had lunch Thursday and the service, drinks, wine and the food were spectacular. I can’t say any more than that! Boom! Well I will say try the calamari.... best ever!
Food was excellent Our server Nick was excellent Ambiance
Food was excellent Our server Nick was excellent Ambiance was good Restaurant is small and a little tight Prices were a little high when compared with comparable restaurants
Aaaaaaamazing!!! I'd give it 10 stars out of 5! Rosario
Aaaaaaamazing!!! I'd give it 10 stars out of 5! Rosario gave exceptional service! The panne Toscano is ridiculously yummy! The homemade tagliatelle with jumbo lump crabmeat and asparagus melted in my mouth! The tuna tartare was devoured by my husband! Perfect execution of a rainy Wednesday night dinner!
I understand why you need to make a reservation.
What a great little restaurant, you can taste the quality ingredients in every bite. The wife and I went for our anniversary dinner. Our waiter George was great, very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We cant wait to go back again. Parking can be hard but there is a free valet lot just across the street
We celebrated babe's birthday tonight with an absolutely
We celebrated babe's birthday tonight with an absolutely delicious dinner at Toscanos in Bordentown, New Jersey--a culinary adventure that unfolded with tantalizing flavors and heartfelt merriment. Our journey commenced with a bowl of exquisite lobster bisque; every spoonful carried the essence of the sea, a creamy elixir that warmed our spirits. Next, we embarked on a culinary expedition, guided by the irresistible allure of bacon-dusted calamari. The melding of smoky bacon and tender calamari was a harmonious revelation, elevated further by a sweet and tangy plunge into the realm of sweet and sour sauce. These delectable morsels danced upon our palates, echoing the joyous melody of celebration. Continuing our indulgence, we ventured into the realm of shrimp scampi, a dish that beckoned us with its fragrant seduction. Plump and succulent, the shrimp were nestled upon toasted bread, mingling their essence with the rich flavors of garlic and butter. Each savory bite unfolded a symphony of oceanic delight, a testament to the culinary prowess that graced our table. And then, the centerpiece of our feast arrived--a tomahawk special for two, adorned with a root beer bourbon dry rub. A behemoth of a steak, it commanded attention and reverence, proudly displaying its charred exterior, promising an explosion of flavors within. The first bite transported us to a realm where succulence reigned supreme, the tender meat yielding effortlessly to our eager forks. The root beer bourbon dry rub embraced our tastebuds with its subtle sweetness, while the perfectly seared exterior whispered tales of mastery over the flame. Accompanying this culinary marvel were the French onion mashed potatoes, a side dish that paid homage to comfort and elegance fused together. The creamy canvas of mashed potatoes embraced the rich essence of caramelized onions, creating a symphony that hinted at both simplicity and complexity. As our dinner progressed, laughter and merriment filled the air, intertwining with the harmonies of abundance and companionship. We toasted to life's blessings, to the joy of birthdays, and to the serendipitous discovery of a restaurant that embraced us in its warm embrace. Toscanos, a haven of culinary artistry, had woven its enchantment around us, bestowing upon us a birthday celebration for the ages. From the first sip of lobster bisque to the last bite of tomahawk steak and French onion mashed potatoes, our palates danced with delight. There, in the heart of Toscanos Ristorante & Steak House, we created memories that shall forever be etched in the annals of our love and culinary exploration.
Every year for my two friends birthday we come and enjoy it
Every year for my two friends birthday we come and enjoy it here. We always have such a big, loud group but our waitress everytime is always so patient and and friendly to all of us and always recommends the best wine and food choices. My friends absolutely love the steak since thats what always keeps them coming back but recently we have tried other options on the menu and wow did none of it disappoint! The glazed root beer pork chop was delicious- from the glaze, to being cooked perfectly and being paired with the whipped sweet potato underneath. Yum! Another item on the menu you need to try is the angel hair with crab meat and asparagus covered in this addicting champagne broth. I couldn't even stop eating it! Great place for a nice dinner.
Perfect for Your Special Night
This restaurant is perfect for a special evening! Reservations are a must, as it is a small restaurant with an excellent reputation. We celebrated our anniversary on a stormy Sunday evening and the place was packed. Not a single empty table! Our waitress Stephanie was phenomenal - she was attentive, but not overbearing or pushy. We were not rushed. All of our needs were met professionally and with kindness. Toscano's is a bit pricier than restaurants that we usually go to, which is why we chose it for our special evening. We had delicious crusty bread with compound butter, the bacon dusted calamari as an appetizer, a 35-day aged ribeye, duck fat poutine as a side, and rigatoni vodka for approximately $149 before tip. The food was very delicious, with generous portion sizes!

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!

Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
