I love this place! This is a true mom-and-pop shop, and the food is delicious and well-made. It doesn't have a lot of seating, so we waited a little bit for a table, but the server was super nice and helpful with the menu. The lemon soup was delicious, as was the Gyro and the souvlaki sandwich. I highly recommend this place.
Be the first to ReplyOne of my favorite Greek restaurants to eat at ever.
The chicken is tender, the lemon potatoes are perfect (as well as the fries). Also, the tzatziki sauce rocks my socks. I could eat it by the spoonful

I recommend this place to anyone who asks me where they should eat in new paltz. I normally go for the ultimate gyro. Everything has amazing flavor and the food always comes out hot. Being a college student, the prices are also reasonable for a meal out!

.. so nice! The Lemon chicken soup was outrageous! The food is really good. I ordered lamb souvlaki sandwich and fries. My daughter ordered the chicken souvlaki and enjoyed it. Chicken Santorini was excellent!

First time there, very cozy and laid back and friendly atmosphere. The grape leaves were delicious, meatless, served cold, the rice inside was creamy and firm, the grape leaves outside were tender and marinated in a tangy greek herb dressing. These were the best item we had for the entire meal. The tzatziki was good, very creamy and flavorful, but not too thick or cucumbery, it was more of a dressing or yogurt sauce rather than a hearty chunky version of this classic. The chicken gyro sandwich was tasty, with real grilled chicken in there, and not the pre-formed chicken that gets sliced. The falafel was crispy on the outside, nice and tasty, not over the top amazing, but really good. Same for the Greek salad. We would definitely eat there again! So glad to have a Greek place in the NP vicinity!

Two friends and I recently found ourselves looking for dinner on the way camping, and stopped off in New Paltz. We were looking for something relatively quick and healthy. It was a Friday night, around 8PM, and we ended up at the Tzatziki Greek Grill. From the moment we got there, we were all extremely pleased with our selection. The owner greeted us, and was very friendly. Our server, Mike, was warm, welcoming and attentive. He was also very funny and personable. We all ordered the traditional gyro; the pita was super fresh, and meat was soft and delicious. My friend Becky (who is Greek) also ordered the avgolemeno soup as an appetizer and she said it was the perfect balance of flavors. Lastly of note, this place was also BYOB, making it very affordable. I really enjoyed my visit here, and would recommend it to anyone seeking a nice, delicious meal. I will definitely be returning!
Be the first to ReplyI prefer my gyro sandwich as takeout.
Lots of gyro meat, done well, with ample amounts of tomato, lettuce, onion and tzatziki sauce. Cheap enough, and even cheaper as a lunch special. Beats the heck out of a diner gyro.
Be the first to ReplyWow! I have NEVER given one star.
The door was open, it is 12:09, they open at 11, and the lady rudely said we are not open, before I could even completely get to the counter. She was busy arguing with some guy about a Snapple flavor!? Bizarre experience, can't say it the food is like their service, I will never know. My father is Greek and we are a welcoming culture, she is a poor example of that. Good luck making it in this industry. Efharisto you were so rude to!
Be the first to ReplyGreat time at this homey Greek eatery.
Food was surprisingly excellent. Quite authentic. Greek salad w chicken souvlaki, Gyro and the santoroni burger. All very good. Warm atmosphere and helpful and friendly staff.

The best thing we saw about this place was the wonderfully friendly owner who seemingly will do anything to please his customers. However the food was rather ordinary. The namesake tzatziki sauce was indeed very good. More attention should be given to what's coming out of the chicken. The chicken was rather bland and dry from being over cooked. And some of the lettuce in the Greek salad was yellow. By the way I'm no expert on anything Greek but shouldn't the feta cheese be served in a larger slice and not cubed? And Greek salad isn't supposed to have lettuce (of any color) I don't expect a super high level gourmet experience at a tiny Mediterranean restaurant in the center of a small town like New Paltz. Authenticity and better execution are called for here.
