We had a great Tuesday evening here for happy hour and dinner! Rachel, our server, was top notch and made our experience extra memorable. The food was memorable so much so we reordered a couple dishes. A beautiful well kept restaurant and we will be back.

Uchi is a wonderful dining establishment with an excellent staff and beautiful decor. We chose the full Omakase dinner option. It was a good effort, but underwhelming when compared to Sushi By Scratch. Execution and precision both matter with Omakase service. Uchi's version seems random and lacks personality. It just isn't that special... but, THE FOOD IS OUTSTANDING. I will be ordering tons of Sushi and Sashimi from this place (soon and often). Even their hot dishes are amazing! Uchi is definitely a winning choice.
We came to Uchi after a long hiatus specifically because
We came to Uchi after a long hiatus specifically because the Jasmine Cream dessert finally returned to the menu. One of the best restaurant desserts I've ever had--full stop. Silky jasmine custard, a bright cilantro granita that sounds wild but works perfectly as a palate reset, little bursts of compressed pineapple, and a delicate honey tuile tying everything together. It's the kind of dessert that makes you put your spoon down, look around, and quietly wish you didn't have to share. We've been spending most of our time at Uchiba and Uchiko lately, so it felt right to return to the mothership. Verdict: The happy hour menu did not miss--food and cocktails both hit another level, and service was above and beyond what we've had recently at the sister restaurants. Huge thanks to Jack, whose timing, attention, and easy style made the night feel special. Highlights (besides the incredible dessert!): --Blackberry Cosmo -- sabe straight, blackberry, orange. Bright, juicy, and dangerously easy to down. --Gyumaki Handroll -- wagyu short rib, jalapeño, Thai basil, pickled shallot, white chili aioli. Fat, heat, herb, crunch--handheld happiness. --Walu Walu -- oak-grilled escolar, candied citrus, ponzu, myoga. Smoke meets citrus in the most civilized way. --Green Bean -- herb aioli, goma shio, shiro dashi (on the happy menu for 5.5!). Elite-level snacking; the platter was mysteriously "self-emptying." Also loved: --Hama Mango -- mango, candied quinoa, apple aquachile (sweet + tart + texture = yes). --Namahotate -- dayboat scallop (cool, clean, and my wife's favorite). --Tomato Crudo -- heirloom tomato, balsamic tamari, Thai basil (summer on a plate). Michelin visited North Texas last year, but somehow overlooked Uchi. That wasn't just an oversight--it was a wrong turn. If nothing else, Uchi deserved a Bib Gourmand. Bottom line: Uchi is still the north star. We'll happily orbit. A chain, yes, but a very good one.
Possibly the best omakase for several hundred miles. Try to sit at the sushi counter if you can.
Outstanding one of a kind experience.
Very unique and compliments to the chef! It was truly amazing.
Uchiba is always so close to being great, but it keeps
Uchiba is always so close to being great, but it keeps missing the mark one way or another. We did the 9-course tasting and the pacing was rough. The kitchen forgot the first two courses, which didn't arrive until right before dessert after we realized we had only gotten 6 courses. After a somewhat strong start, we sat through a long lull waiting for those dishes and then another 30+ minutes for dessert, which was part of the pairing. When they asked how everything was, I mentioned it was disappointing that the hama chili ended up as our last savory course instead of early on where it belonged. The response was basically, "Yeah, the kitchen is busy today." Not exactly what you want to hear in the middle of a tasting menu. The food itself was good, but for the price and reputation, the execution and timing really undercut the whole experience.
this place is coasting.
The entry area out front is dirty. An 8:30 reservation means 8:30, not 8:45 Our server seemed annoyed/harried/impersonal, The purple hair I guess, was a preview of what was to come. I had a more pleasant and warmer interaction with the Waffle House waitress earlier that day. Restrooms were dirty, and NO ONE wants to open two doors to leave. They should be push to exit. The sushi and presentation was excellent but prices were high, especially for the tuna, I think $30 for 4 pieces which probably weighed less than an ounce is pretty crazy.

I came here with very low expectations because Uchiko Plano was a very disappointing experience for me. But the original is obviously the tried and true; our experience here was very good and we enjoyed a lovely anniversary dinner, and showered by a lot of attention by the waitstaff. We felt very special :) Hats off to the exceptional service and friendly conversation from Louis/Luis behind the sushi bar, and his neighbor David. They were modest and not pushy but it was like they were our very chill friends who happened to put together some great sushi. They were the stars of the night, elevating our food that much more and recommending great dishes and perfect pairings. All, and I mean all, the restaurant staff demonstrated a lot of consideration for us guests and plenty of attentiveness without feeling like a stuffy over-the-top classy restaurant. This is a hard balance to strike and they did it very well. Akamutsu was so good we spent pretty much a whole bill just on that. Buttery soft texture with the perfect sear. Honorable mentions include the eggplant nasu nigiri with the perfect crispy edges, ama ebi shrimp, and umi masu (trout belly). This is not a sushi place for purists but the fish is fresh and the sauces and flavor pairings are interesting and fun; desserts are beautiful and delicious to boot. Easy to make a reservation and there's valet parking available. This is a great place to catch up with friends, special occasions, date night, and everything in between.

It took 30 minutes for our order to be taken on a Tuesday night, but once it was taken the food came out very quickly. I loved the swanky vibes inside, and the quality of the fish was undeniable.
This place is a joke.
We ordered Omakase for 2 persons, and they told us they serve it as a shareable plate, like 10 courses. The waiter couldn't tell us what the menu was, it is up to the chef, even it is up to the chef and it still has a menu but not here. We got one piece of fish fillet and shared it, about 2os per persons, lol. One nigiri sushi per person and the rice was sweet and loose, lol x 2. At the end of the night, they acted like a Michelin restaurant and gave us one "today's menu" and one Szechuan chill paste, remember this is Japanese or 2 persons, lol x 3? The serving between each plate is random, sometimes we waited 10 mins and sometimes 20 mins. At the end the bill was almost $400. We didn't get what we paid for, they charged Michelin price and the food quality, presentation and service is a joke. Highly not recommended. Ambience: 5/5, we are pretty sure we are paying for the rent Food:1/5 Price:0/5 Service: 1/5

The ambiance of this place is beautiful but the staff and food really put it to shame. We came here to celebrate a birthday dinner, server didn't ask the purpose of our visit but we did mention that it was our first time dining there. We had to ask him to explain the menu to us multiple times. Upon ordering a few things, it came out in separate courses which was fine. However, we weren't even done with one of the items yet and another server came by and took the plate away from our table with food still on it before we could even stop her. The chicken (which took the longest and we had been notified of that) that we ordered was extremely dry and had an awful taste. We were really expecting more out of this place and left extremely disappointed.
My visit to uchi was greatly disappointing after reading
My visit to uchi was greatly disappointing after reading all of the great reviews. The restaurant itself is beautiful with a modern feel inside. The staff were very accommodating and pleasant throughout my experience. However, the food was not as great as hoped. They also sat us under the AC, and the water kept dripping on my head. I don't understand why they would seat anyone there knowing that it's leaking water. They were going around with a mop and a tray wiping it and they wiped it WHILE we were sat. Right on top of us. The oysters did not taste good and it was hard to swallow. A few cuts of fish did not taste fresh as I would hope from such a nice restaurant. The only thing that was ok was the o toro.

Uchi is delish! I came here last week and ordered the chefs top 10 dishes and they were aaamazing! If you are unsure of this place try it during happy hour. As always I say outside and ordered some cold sake to accompany the sushi!
Uchi in Dallas is the sushi spot dreams are made of.
From the moment I walked in, it was clear this place is special. The ambiance was elegant yet welcoming, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The sushi? Absolutely phenomenal. Every bite was a symphony of fresh flavors and perfect textures. The chef's creativity shines through in each dish, making it hard to pick a favorite. The service was equally impressive--attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. If you're looking for top-notch sushi in Dallas, Uchi is the place to go. Everything was so good, I can't wait to go back!
Uchi is a must visit when it comes to upscale fine dining.
They've mastered the art of fresh caught flavors mixed with various elements that truly make each plate shine. The service is absolutely incredible. Very professional and knowledgeable staff that clearly present each dish with full details as well as the proper way to consume each dish for maximum enjoyability. Even the complimentary valet service up front took great care of our car and arrived in a timely manner. The place is decorated beautifully and has such an inviting and buzzing ambiance. Some of my recommended highlight that we ordered were the Hama chili, Walu Walu, Unagi, Gyutoro, Akami Te, scallop nigiri, and the fried milk dessert. The final bill came out to about as much as a Costco trip but you should definitely celebrate a special milestone occasion here or try their happy hour if you can get a seat. I would say this place beats Nobu in most facets with their service as well as innovative flavors.
Excellent food and service.
The rolls were delicious and right portion. We were seated on time based on the reservation. The servers kept the food spaced right and did a good job explaining the ingredients and order of taste.
Words can't describe the delicious sushi we received.
Took my fiancée for our 4 year anniversary. The waiter was so kind and respectful, the sushi chef was awesome and provided us recommendations on the menu that day. I can't thank Uchi enough as that day. No doubt in my mind that this is the best sushi in Dallas.

Okay -- OUR SERVER!!! Danielle, you get a gold star :) So kind and informative...We chatted between which dishes to get and in the end, she surprised us with a couple on the house. Made our experience 10/10, with a long menu, we did not feel rushed to make our choices. Lover having a later reservation (8pm) and having a quieter experience an hour in as the res cleared.
I going to need more than 10 stars to accurately rate this
I going to need more than 10 stars to accurately rate this place . The dining room is beautiful. Service starts at the valet stand and continues throughout the entire experience. A dirty dish will never be left in front of you as any available server is trained to pick up what they see regardless of table assignments. Team work indeed. This is hands down my favorite restaurant to go to for special occasions or anytime I can snag a reservation. It's truly Devine!!!
Food selection is not for hungry people.
The portions were way too small. Extremely overpriced. I was waiting for the next food and I got a reaction like, you eat too fast. But my daughter mentioned the best quality beef on the hot rock.

This is the best japanese food I've ever had, and I've been to Japan. Service is always amazing and the food and drinks are spectacular. The sake selection is amazing. FANTASTIC options for vegetarians. Always a hit.
I had a near perfect experience at Uchi.
Service was stellar and each dish was great. Fish was fresh and flavorful, nearly melt-in-your-mouth which is expected of a high end sushi restaurant. There is a lot of creativity and melding of flavors and textures in their dishes which helps set Uchi apart from other sushi restaurants. My favorite dish of the night was the scallop under their hot tastings menu. The scallop was seared perfectly and paired with a beurre blanc sauce and green tomatoes. The mixture of all these flavors along with the sunflower furikake was to die for. Everything else was phenomenal and there are several must try desserts to end the night with - fried milk, coconut tapioca, and honey toast are some I would recommend. The main negatives would be the size of each cut of fish and the price for each item. Nigiri is much smaller compared to many other places, especially for what you are paying. But if you can look past this point then Uchi is a must try experience.
The best sushi in the DFW area! Super high quality, fresh
The best sushi in the DFW area! Super high quality, fresh ingredients and very tasty. Today was the first time I tried their bincho maki and it was amazing! The albacore melts in your mouth while as the crispy garlic adds that little bit of crunch. Great combination and it pairs perfectly with the edamame pure! Highly recommend trying their foie gras! Trust me.
A great experience with delicious food.
For the DFW area, prices were reasonable and better than other similar fine dining establishments. Friendly service and complimentary valet. The food (ordered a la carte): - The sushi/nigiri/sashimi was excellent and fresh. They have a lot of options - Only dish I would pass on if I went again would be the hot rock. It's not bad, just don't think it's worth getting over other dishes, especially if you've had wagyu before. The price: - Reasonable for DFW in my opinion, for two people the subtotal came out to less than $200 for 7 dishes, a beer, and cocktail. Overall, a great experience at Uchi that's great for a date or if you just like food. Being able to pull up to the door (due to the complimentary valet) without having to worry about parking in Dallas is really nice. In addition, our waitress was friendly and provided great recommendations given our preferences.
We made a reservation ahead of time for our anniversary!
We made a reservation ahead of time for our anniversary! We've heard really good things about Uchi and wanted to come here and check it out ourselves. We opted for the omakase (10-course meal). For about $167 per person (Feb 2024). The service was great, and the ambiance was spectacular! Everything tasted really well curated, and the plating of each dish was an art in itself. The quality of the fish is unmatched! I was really impressed with every single dish we tried.
WOW I went for my birthday with 7 other girlfriends.
The waiter was very helpful in sharing how the ordering works given plate portions, what's shareable and not. Even pitched to give him a budget and he would custom order for us. Everything we had was incredible. Would definitely be back

So we have visited Uchi Denver several times but never the Dallas location. Went out here with a group this time. Made reservations well ahead of time. The food was exquisite. I had my first sea urchin here and LOVED LOVED LOVED it. I don't think I will go through the foods here as we ordered SO MUCH and left happy. I will say something I observed because of which I'm leaving this with a 4.5 star. Just like the Denver location, the different servers brought out the foods and served us. They described the foods right on; they know their stuff. Only thing that could improve here was the way this was done. Most of the folks that were bringing the foods were describing the food very fast like they were about to miss their Shinkansen and that charm, smile, 'how you guys doing' kind of look was absent. This is important as I never felt this in Denver (perhaps Denver location has spoilt me). This is definitely not a deal breaker; when in Dallas again I'm definitely going here again but I'm a sucker for service so. That last bit of finesse would have been nice.

Uchi's food is amazing!!! Their service is above & beyond & we love their atmosphere!!! Looking forward to our next visit!!
Best Sushi in Dallas!
Dined here in late December. We had the special NYE tasting menu (though it was a couple of days before NYE) with the sake pairings, and everything was fantastic. It was perhaps all a bit over the top with foie gras, uni foam, A5, etc but each course was delicious, flavorful, and almost sinfully good. The sake pairings were also spot-on, and the service, despite being very busy, never flagged. Even though we had a particular holiday menu, it was still some of the best sushi we have ever tasted, and Uchi remains the best sushi restaurant in Dallas.
Horrible 01/01/2024 experience.
Had a horrible experience here. Food was late, waiter would place plate on my table and would run off not giving you a chance to ask for something. When I brought this up to another waiter she informed me that, that is what they do here. So I told her okay so if I want something I have to stand up and get it myself… she said no…( which was exactly what I meant) …. So while my friends were ordering/ having their dessert I was still trying to eat my dinner.
Exceptional sushi!!
This is my favorite place to have sushi when I come to Dallas . Everything is not only aesthetically pleasing, but just an explosion of flavors with every single item.! They start you out with a mango sorbet to cleanse the palate . I will always from here on out ask for “HOON”. He was a sushi chef. We had everything from pork belly to Wagyu., tuna, and salmon absolutely everything. I do believe they serve the best dessert in Dallas, which is called. “Fried Milk” The only complaint I have, and I could not see, knocking it to four stars is the service when you are at the chefs bar, other people are bringing you the food and the service there was not up to par, especially a server named “LA”. She was unfriendly unprofessional, and I hope I never have to have dealings with her again. The other servers were pleasant, but not welcoming. Atmosphere is wonderful it’s not too loud a great experience especially because of our sushi chef HOON !!
Excellent experience
My wife and I celebrity her birthday at Uchi Dallas and we had a wonderful time. The service is great. Our waiter Joey really detail, explain to us on each dishes. The sushi is fresh other cooked dishes are very tasty. You can tell the chefs put a lot of time and effect to create each dishes.
A must to visit
This restaurant is real a must in your life. The food is amazing !!! My first time was in Miami and this time I visited the Dallas premises. I will repeat soon in the near future…
You'll never go back to a crunchy dynamite roll again.
This hot spot is a gem. The vibe is cool and contemporary, educated and smart. The service is excellent without being overbearing but that is important because this is not your California or crunchy roll kind of place. Uchi celebrates the art of showcasing the freshest sushi available in its beautiful simplicity. The yellow sashimi is a step above the normal preparation, the ocean bass is not to be missed if they haven't sold out. They have great sake selection and the servers were very helpful in selection. I went with friends the first time but often go solo and sit either at the sushi bar or wine bar. Solos can often sneak in without a reservation. It's small portions so if you are starving it will be a pricey meal but I've not had fresher or more consistently excellent sushi anywhere. Toro and uni lovers rejoice. The 12 hour sous vide octopus roll is simply spectacular as is the bluefin tuna belly roll with truffle oil. Warning - after eating here you'll probably have trouble going back to the strip mall joints and ordering the old school rolls.
Best sushi place in Dallas.
Excellent place food and ambience. Fresh fish flown in regularly from Japan makes for an impressive offering and staff was legendary on the omakase offering nailing down the tastes and quantity. Must visit if you are after quality sushi.
Great place
Excellent service, wonderful and tasteful food. Ambiance very Chic. We shared several dishes and all of them great! The only thing missing for me was that the they only serve sake, beer and wine.
Very mixed
Super cool & nice restaurant with friendly and professional staff. Unfortunately the food was not on the same level tonight. Sashimi of salmon was terribel, it can not be served like this. Chewy & with brown pieces on the end. Its supposed to be tender and melt in the mouth. They removed it from the bill. Second cource was a thai inspirated lobster dish. I liked the taste, but the lobster was not of good quality. Third cource was kingcrab. Very good & interesting dish with lots of flavour. Spicy with chili, mushroom, sundried tomatoes and more. Even all the staff was so nice i leave with not the best experience regarding the food. I am sure they will be able to adjust this in the future.
Just amazing ❤️
Last year during a business trip to Dallas given I love Uchi in Miami I decided to try the Dallas location and as expected it did not disappoint us. We sat at the bar and had Chef Thai took care of us and the food, he was amazing in recommending the dishes, we tried a bunch and one after the other just so good, here the list in the order of the photos : Tuna Maki Short Rib Walu Walu Mushroom Dumpling Machi Cure Sake Pom Sakana Foie Gras Fried Milk All absolutely amazing, so whenever and wherever there is a Uchi restaurant, if I am visiting that place I will for sure go to Uchi as it never disappoints @uchidallas For more of my favorite restaurants, places and more, like my Facebook page Naddia’s Favorites or follow me on Instagram @naddias_favorites
I've been here twice in the past two months and I love this
I've been here twice in the past two months and I love this restaurant!! All the food I have tried are such amazing flavor combinations and are prepared so well. The service is amazing and all the waiters are so attentive. I sat at the patio this time and I was even given a blanket as the night got a little colder. The snow crab maki is one of my favorites here. I also loved the east coast brown sugar oysters. The okashi dessert is definitely to die for, you must try it if you come here.
Food is always stellar and service is even better.
Our waiter Tristan was attentive and gave great recommendations based on dietary restrictions. Was also greeted by a previous waitress, Liz, who sent over a complimentary dish for coming back to the restaurant. 5 star service every-time, and excellent vegetarian sushi selections.
Some of the best sushi in Texas and that I have ever had.
Far superior to nobu in my opinion. The omakase is a must, especially if you sit at the bar and have the experience with the chef. The service is amazing and the waiters are always so kind and helpful and give genuine reccomendations. The baby sea bream is my favorite nigiri so I was sad when it wasn't in season the last time I came. For me what really makes the sushi stand out is the quality and flavor of the rice. I love how it has a great happy hour as well. Standouts in the menu are the gyutoro(short rib nigiri), cod in hot tastings and the Hama chili. One of my favorite things ever tho has to be their dessert, fried milk in particular. The ambiance is great as well. Very classic but still trendy. Great for a special night out.
It's very good and very good service, but not as good as
It's very good and very good service, but not as good as Oishi and it's rediculously pricey. I have been here 3 times and just don't get the pricing. So you are paying for ambiance but who cares about fussy dinners today.
Tony was our server and he was incredible! The whole staff
Tony was our server and he was incredible! The whole staff was amazing. And the food. Show stopping. Best meal in Dallas!!! We were blown away. 10/10 will absolutely go again.
This is a high end sushi restaurant.
Great if you want to show your date that you don't mind spending some cash for a light meal. We were here for Valentine's day and ordered the $350 for 2 people menu. I would not bring children, friends or a large crowd. I would never order that again. I would rather order $200 of sushi of my choosing. The patio was nice and had heaters and light, .....except for the the loud PETA protestors outside requesting for Uchi to remove foi gras from the menu. Our server was so sorry for the noise he gave us foil gras sushi on the house. . Seems counter productive. Our overall bill with drinks and tip was about $550. Again... Would never do this again. I am guessing it was for the experience, and my husband was trying to spoil me. Ambiance (minus the protestors was 6/10) open kitchen, kinda dark and basic Food 7/10 had a few tasty sushi bites but I have definitely had better...(in Fort Worth) plating was nice, not many things were super memorable except the protestors. Service 9/10 service was attentive and warmFavorites:Sake toroOtoroHirame K
This is definitely my favorite sushi restaurant in Dallas
This is definitely my favorite sushi restaurant in Dallas by far! You cannot beat the nigeri at Uchi. The ambience is beautiful and calm, the service is always impeccable, and the food never disappoints. The drinks are also amazing, and you have to get the fried milk for dessert (trust me). I especially love their seasonal menu when they have the watermelon Thai basil appetizer. we try to come here once a month. We usually let the chef pick out our sushi selection, and it never disappoints. I'm knocking off one star because the last two dinners I've had to sit and listen to a screaming baby. I get it if we're at Denny's, but not at Uchi where I'm paying $400-$600 for our meal. I had to ask if the would waiter reseat us on our last visit because a baby was screaming so loudly that I could not hear the conversation I was having with my husband. I get that Uchi wants everyone to be happy, and I don't know why it's not common sense not to bring a baby into a fancy restaurant like this, but something really to be done about this. I have a hearing problem, and loud noises like this caused me great distress. This is why I try to save up to go to the nicest restaurant I can in order to avoid situations like this. If you're paying this much money for a meal, you're there for an experience as well. I'm hopeful this will change in the future.
My husband and I absolutely enjoy Uchi.
It's been our yearly anniversary tradition to get seating at the bar and have the chef serve us until we're stuffed. This is the best place to sushi splurge. The service is impeccable and all the staff is knowledgeable in their food menu. The ambiance is always pleasant and it's never a dull time here when dining.
Best sushi I've had in Dallas.
Our waiter was phenomenal. Everything we ate was just delicious. And surprisingly not super expensive. I've been to KAI multiple times Ive gotten less for much more. Will be back as much as I can. And they take reservation until 10pm at close but the kitchen is still open. Love it!
