Ulivo New York Reviews from The Last Year
Ambiance and fresh pasta, great spot.
Very cozy and intimate with lovely service and easy to get a table
The real trattoria experience
This is a very good place to enjoy true Italian food. What you get is top ingredients and tasty food. We try the cannoli meet that was very good. I would prefer a little more spicy but is a matter of taste and I ask for hot sauce. Also the pasta pomodoro Was very good, thereโs nothing special in this dish except the quality of the pasta and tomato that was delivered. The staff was very kind and they have a good selection of wines. I donโt give 5 stars only because I already have better experiences for less money, NY is truly expensive and I bealive the rating should be in line with our experience but if I had to qualify just for NY it would be 5 stars. Overall is a solid 4 stars. Truly recommend
Ate here for the first time.
Excellent service. Would consider trying again until I found my favorite dish(es.) Reading other's reviews, it seems the menu hasn't changed in some time, including "the specials." That ravioli sauce is straight butter -- I dipped bread in it. The atmosphere gives italian family comfort slash speak easy glamour though understated on both and neither of these.
Orderly
Good restaurant with a few drawbacks. The restaurant is recommended by the Michelin Guide (no star). I can't quite understand this. The calamari friti and the homemade papardelle with oxtail ragout tasted good, but not outstanding. The ragout lacked a bit of depth. In Germany, no Michelin recommendation would have been given. The restaurant is very poorly lit and incredibly loud, so that even two people can hardly have a conversation. We would visit the restaurant again.
Super cozy-hipster-shabby modern Italian eatery - perfect
Super cozy-hipster-shabby modern Italian eatery - perfect for a nice, sit down lunch. I ordered the Prix Fixe (it was a Sunday) lunch, which had solid choices available at only $30. What a deal! I started with the mozzarella and prosciutto - a large portion for a set menu; very impressed. My wife has an absolutely light and delicious arugula salad dressed with lemon and thin Parmesan slices. Yum! I had a unique, creative, and delicious pesto, made with almonds; different but excellent - and another huge prix fixe portion. My wife's amatriciana was well made and full of flavor. Impossible to finish it was so much! Top notch service and perfect pacing. Finish your meal with a nice Italian espresso, and face the day.
Really cute Italian place on 28th! Stopped in on a Sunday
Really cute Italian place on 28th! Stopped in on a Sunday night without a reservation and didn't have a wait. Got the artichokes with avocado and pistachios to start along with octopus carpaccio for a second app. For mains we got the cannelloni short rib ragu and the linguine with clams. I wanted to try the pasta with tuna but they were out. Everything was very delicious and portions were generous for a really decent price point! Service was quick and staff was very helpful!
Simple + efficient = excellent dinner
Simple, efficient, intimate, quiet, good atmosphere, nice decor, good wine, very tasty food and very good service. Nothing exceptional but everything was "right" and well done. Most of the time, we don't need more than this.... And this not easy to find. They did it 10/10 Thank you.
Good!
Restaurant on 28th Street, very easy to reach both due to the adjacent subway station and its proximity to Times Square (reachable with a comfortable walk across Broadway). Perfect dishes, nothing to envy of an Italian restaurant, with prices in line for the city (โฌ25 for pasta with tomato sauce and the same for pasta and beans). Truly a good solution for those who want to be on the safe side.
Great place we made a later reservation and they took there
Great place we made a later reservation and they took there time with us and didn't make us feel rushed. This was our last dinner in NYC for our vacation. Servers were all kind and friendly. The bartender even brought me the bottle of the wine I was drinking so I could take a picture of it.

Food 7/10 An underrated gem located in NoMad with homemade pastas and refreshing drinks. I ordered the spicy sausage pasta, which was just okay, but my friend's vongole was delicious. Massive portions, but I couldn't finish and didn't particularly want to finish it, even as leftovers. The mezcal cocktail was pretty good though. Atmosphere 8/10 Very dark inside, and also quite loud. Bustling with activity. Tables were spread a good distance apart from each other. Cute bathroom. Service 8/10 Solid service, nothing wrong.

Solid 4 stars: food is authentic and tasty; pizza is very good. i didn't enjoy the tiramisu' at all (although there are much worse ones out there..) but the cannoli were tasty, if tiny. I found the service topnotch -making up for the rather inflated prices for the pastas/desserts ($30&$15 respectively). I would say give it a try if you want a nice Italian meal!
Great experience and dining time for my team while visiting
Great experience and dining time for my team while visiting NYC! Since we were a party of 8, the restaurant policy requires a card on file for parties of 6+ to ensure a cancellation fee of $15 per guest. Our reservation was set at 7:30 pm Tuesday night, and we were sat immediately when our party was fully assembled. The vibes were lively, fun, and great. The only issue was that our waitress disappeared for 10-15 minutes and another waiter took our menus to "restart the service" though we ordered appetizers and but no orders to kitchen for pasta nor drinks. We decided to go family style and we were quite full after the appetizers of fried eggplant, bread, pizzas and more. We ended up sharing 1 pasta between 4 people. The food was tasty, good portions, and traditional Italian with class.

Delicious Italian food, perfectly al dente noodles, very kind, attentive staff. We were walk ins for an early dinner tuesday just before 6pm and got seated right away. Overall amazing experience and would definitely return.
Any overly quiet restaurant in NY is a sign.
..I should have known. I booked Ulivo for my fam to celebrate my son's bday-he wanted Italian- but was pretty unimpressed. Ambiance has potential, but food and atmosphere was really lacking. Not ideal for vegetarians. We got the almond pesto which was interesting, pizza was fine, nothing special, and the pomodoro really left something to be desired. They would not accommodate any of the other dishes to be made vegetarian, and overall service was meh. Many restaurants offer complimentary dessert for a bday but there was no acknowledgment of it here. Overall made for a really mediocre dinner celebration.
A piece of Italian cuisine in NY
We found this Italian trattoria after visiting the Empire State Building. Very kind staff, we ordered homemade spaghettoni with tomato sauce. Good choice! Pasta al dente and sauce well made, I never expected it here. Wide choice of Italian bitters too. Sometimes I struggle to find the bitterness of the boss in Italy but here it is ๐ recommended
Good Italian Restaurant
We reserved a table the same day. The staff is warm and welcoming. My wife had the Brazino which was excellent. I had the Lasagna which was a little heavy. I enjoyed my meal. I would eat here again
A NYC Find!
We were served by a number of friendly, helpful servers. Our salad, pasta and dessert choices were excellent and cheerfully split as we requested. The atmosphere was cozy and the noise level low.
Here we fly the Italian flag!
A real Italian restaurant in NYC. The waiter was very kind and offered us some dishes off the menu. Pasta cooked al dente, as we Italians like it, generous and tasty portions. Obviously the bill reflects New York standards, so it was high, but it fits!
Totally yes!
Superb cuisine with lots of bang for the buck even if it's not cheap. Well-chosen wine list with helpful expertise matching exotic labels with menu offerings. There's a nice vibe here, waitstaff and front team seem to be happy there.

Need to cancel a bid, not getting a responseโฆ how do I do it? |
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid? |
Your bid has been โmatchedโ with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted. |
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from? |
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered? |
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.

Give the best answerConcierge change fulfillment time
I posted a request for a reservation this Thursday between 6:30 and 8 pm and initially the potential seller said it would be fulfilled by today. Now they changed it that they will only fulfill it by 5pm that same day. Basically I would have an hour and a half to get to the restaurant. Is this allowed?
