If you like donuts, you must venture here at 12 pm on Saturday! We came for the black and white donut at 1215 (but was sold out, it goes quick!) and got the mango cheesecake instead. The inside had two layers - mango cream and cheesecake (?). It was amazing! A bit on the pricier side, but definitely worth the visit.

Donut review because HOLY cannoli they makes some freaking awesome donuts. Don't sleep on this place: get there by 1140 and wait for perfection. By the time 12 pm rolls in, if you try to get in line then, you will be out of luck because the line was 40 people deep by the time the doors open. We had a yuzu lemon meringue, chocolate peanut butter and a crispy cinnamon roll. The first two were AMAZING. Pillowy, stuffed with creamy goodness, topped with gorgeous fluffy meringue for the first, delectable ganache on the other. The crispy cinnamon roll was like a palmier and while delicious, I'd get more of those yeasted bad boys before getting the crispy variety again. PLEASE open a standalone donut shop. They are glorious.
Be the first to ReplyShared a dark chocolate doughnut / beignet with my wife.
Had a chocolate cream filling with a dark chocolate glaze and toasted marshmallows on top. Texture was balanced but on the yeasty side. Surprisingly unsweet for a pastry. Quite rich and toasty.

Certainly worth a detour, but sitting at the chef's counter is a must for party of two or alone for a delicious and creative bite (or several). Come for the atmosphere, the cocktails, the food, and the show in the kitchen.
Be the first to ReplyWhoever makes the doughnuts on Saturdays is amazing.
Whoever runs it, ruins the entire experience. They run out as soon as they open. It's like they make a total of 5 doughnuts for the day. Wasted my time coming here twice. Don't bother using the Uber eats app because it collapses, since everyone tries to order it at the same time. Why say you're open till 2:30pm when you're sold out at 12:05pm?

Wildair has been on my list to try for a long time and we finally decided to make a reservation. We ordered a bunch of dishes to share and it was hard to narrow it down since everything sounded good. Overall, the meal was enjoyable. Loved the topneck clams, oysters and skate wing. And the salad was probably the best one I've had in a long time. Wasn't a fan of the beef tartare. It was so oily and the portion was too large for only two people. Probably better for a larger group. The wine selection was great and had some interesting bottles. Cute date spot!
Be the first to ReplyAs tomato lovers we really enjoyed the pan con tomate.
We also really liked the panna cotta. They have a great wine selection with a lot of natural wines.

Our group had a late 8:45pm reservation and were seated immediately after arriving. Wildair is a smaller spot in LES, so if you have a larger party (say 5-7 people) make a reservation well in advance. Since we had a big party, we were able to get a taste of a lot of things. We ordered the little gem salad, oysters, scallop crudo, jerk prawn skewers, pissaladieclair, potato darphin w/ uni. There were a lot of international flavors that the menu was inspired by, namely a lot of Asian flavors (XO sauce in the oysters, uni for the potato, dashi for the scallops) and obviously French cooking techniques. This was pretty interesting to me and had some tasty results. My favs were probably the scallop crudo and pissaladieclair, though most things were quite good--there were a few misses, namely the potato w/ uni. I wish there was a bigger portion of uni--without it, I think the dish was good but a bit plain. I also appreciated how attentive and accommodating our waiter was when we were trying to choose a wine to pair with our meal. We tried a lot of different types on the menu, and it was nice to take our time. Selection is not super huge but there are some good ones to choose from. We got a mille feuille on the house for dessert since they ran out of panna cotta for the night. We had tried ordering beforehand but the order was forgotten by the time we asked for it. The dessert we had was good though. Overall not a bad choice for a nice dinner and I enjoyed the food here!

Such a lovely little spot! I was solo which can get a little tricky with small plates, so I didn't get to try as much as I'd like. The clams and tartare were both very good but the standout was the Mille feuille dessert. So many textures, sweet but peppery- I will be thinking about it for a while! Also my server was very knowledgeable about organic wine

We tried it again as friends were interested in going and we were in the neighborhood. Terrible service and the food wasn't hot. Save your money and take it to any number of better places around the corner.
Be the first to ReplyI've been here twice, but had two different experiences.
My first time visiting was great and I left wanting to return for a full dinner -- I had come for after dinner drinks with my fiancé. We got a bottle of wine and the beef tartare to snack on which was fantastic. The overall service was friendly and attentive, and we were seated immediately upon arriving. It was a great date spot for LES.My second time visiting wasn't great. We ordered enough courses for 3 people and unfortunately wasn't impressed with the food. We only ordered seafood dishes since we were with someone who didn't eat meat. The potato dauphinoise with uni (most expensive item we ordered) was probably the most underwhelming dish. The service was also lackluster (not uncommon for a typical NYC restaurants but opposite from the experience we had the first time). We happened to be in the neighborhood early, and decided to stop by to see if they could seat us early. The hostess confirmed that they were (understandably) fully booked until our reservation time so we left and just walked around until our reservation time. We returned at the exact time of our reservation and the hostess mentioned they were still waiting on our table. We waited for about 10 minutes outside and then went back to check in with the hostess on the status who seemed rather bothered that we were checking in. We received the same answer from her (they were still waiting on our table to wrap up). We waited another 5 minutes until the party finally left and the table was cleared. The hostess came out to grab us but offered no apology at all for the delay. I get that it's a busy and popular wine bar (one where you really need to make reservations weeks in advance for prime time on a weekend) but I feel like it's common for restaurants to give tables a heads up that their reservation is coming to an end so they can make sure to seat people on time. The restaurant we had gone to right before (also very busy and popular) had the courtesy to give us a heads up on when they needed the table back so we had enough time to order one more drink + food.

Boston cream and all other donuts I've gotten lucky enough to try were delectable. Never been for dinner, but love their BEP (pineapple instead of cheese was a wild change but an amazing one).

OK. If you are having a "top 25" NYC restaurant experience I would not go here. But I like their social, could watch for dayssssss. A bit of a cluster after all. BE WARNED they close before they say.

Walked in on an early Friday night just to finally try this before a film nearby. It's a little cramped, but this also adds to the energy. I'm not a fan of those high tables, but it also lends to the casual & buzzy atmos. I thought the prices were actually OK, esp. for the LES. I loved that they offered some NA & low ABV drinks. The beef tartare was fine, but nothing special. The salad was stellar, actually! The wine (low ABV) was good. The dessert was god-awful. I like trying new, different things, but the item was not accurately described, AND is was flavorless. I tried a few bites, but couldn't make a dent. It ended up on my bill, which I didn't see until I got the emailed receipt and was STUNNED. Service matters, this is NYC, not going back. But if you go, get the salad!

It pains me to give this review because I was so excited to eat here. First for the food: the beef tartare was delicious, everything else was relatively forgettable to the point I am struggling to remember what else was on the table. The white mezcal Negroni was also delicious, but the waiter never asked if we wanted another drink and was hard to get attention of so we were limited to one... Unfortunately, the service was just not up to par and had a large effect on the meal. Server was grumpy the whole meal and wasn't willing to make any sort of accommodations (like some extra potatoes on a plate of $165 steak that came with 8 small pieces???). Didn't even try dessert as we were too fed up by that point. Definitely a trendy place with potential (like sister restaurant Contra which we loved) but not a quick return for me.

Fabulous dinner w friends here - great service and the cooking was fantastic. The beef tartare was the best I've ever had. And thankfully they have natural wines that aren't all overly funky. Recommend for a date or a fun eve w friends - definitely fit for foodies!
Be the first to ReplyWe had a dinner reservation so no wait.
Service was quite good even though we were seated outdoors. bread and olive oil - oil is from italy, much more fragranttopneck clams - one of my favorite dishes here. amazing tasty clam. oysters - 6 oysters for $18, delicious pairing scallop crudo - one scallop sliced into three pieces. A bit sad to share just 1 scallop for $19American Wagyu striploin - medium rare steak. i mean it's good but not that great.

Was looking forward to dinner here as I haven't been on the LES in a while. It's very much a young crowd, 20s mostly, so can get loud. Everyone sits closely together in very high chairs. Our waiter suggested sharing four dishes for two people. We ordered five. The pan tomate was very pretty but a bit impractical to eat. The tomato is on the bottom and topped with a thin crisp bread. Cutting into it is a total bummer because the tomato gets squished and the bread cracks in shards. It was seasoned well but hard to get a complete bite. We also ordered the squash blossoms, a tempura type app. It was a bit too much batter for my tastes. The head on shrimp was tasty but I couldn't get my head around eating the shell, which was chewy and uncomfortable. The tuna with peppers was good but not memorable. Potatoes were very crispy and tasty. The uni was a nice touch but didn't add much flavor. The standout was the peach dessert, a creamy, light taste of heaven. If you're in the area, I'd recommend getting a glass of wine and maybe one dish.

Finally got a reservation here on Resy! It was such a vibe - packed and buzzing! Our waiter was hilarious and very appreciated that he paid attention to what was said! We couldn't decide between the 2 desserts and asked him to surprise us! He came back around with the Fig Sundae noting that he overheard me sharing that I loved figs! Now that is GRADE A+ Service!Must Order / My favourites:1/ Potato Darphin with Uni - Gutted to have to share (kidding, kind of!); That potato cake would be epic for a hangover cure, just sayin'2/ Jerk Prawn Skewers - Extremely flavourful and super fresh; definitely eat the entire shrimp (the shells are edible!)3/ Fig SundaeOther dishes we ordered: 5/ Pissaladière inside an éclair - This didn't work for me but interesting spin!6/ Scallops with fried capers - The scallops were a bit fishier than I'd like but paired well with the capersDefinitely a spot that will be repeated.

I always get the dessert here! Found this hidden gem awhile back before it became so popular and have loved it since. Even though the desserts are a bit overpriced, they are worth every penny. They are delicious and have such an unique taste it's wild. 10/10!

Very small and intimate place for drinks and small plates to share. Food was inventive and tasty. I really enjoyed the gin and tonic that they made. It was perfectly balanced. The desserts were creative and delicious. Great place to meet up with friends after work for a light bite and drinks or for a date night.Things I'd order again:GranitaCinnamon Brown Sugar, salted caramel, apply jelly mille feuilleChicken WingsBeef TartareBreadShrimpTop Neck ClamsMussels - that sauce was deliciousMost items are from 3 - 38 bucks, but there is a 24oz wagyu on the menu that comes with potatoes and that will set you back only $165.

I've been here twice and although the food has been good, it hasn't wowed me like the other reviews have indicated. The first time we came, we had the roast beef dip sandwich, and it was good, nothing spectacular. On this particular visit, we got the dip Pithivier. It was good, but it was certainly a lot more hot and melty in the Instagram photos. Sadly, there's no sit down, so it was cold by the time we could eat it. We also snagged a few yuzu black sesame donuts. We got there at 11:30 and were the first ones on the line. It was super flavorful and tangy. Again, very good, but would I wait on another line of 30 folks? I likely won't next time.

I had an absolutely phenomenal dinner the other night at Wildair - they do tend to get pretty busy, so definitely recommend making a reservation via Resy if you can. Everything was delicious and fresh, and I love that they incorporate seasonal ingredients to their ever changing menu. The clams were some of the best things I've ever had (such an interesting flavor profile), and the tartar was delicious as well. The waiter talked me into dessert, which was unreal! Cannot recommend their panna cotta enough - they garnish it with this apple cider foam which I could easily chug straight from the bottle. It's slightly more causal than it's next door sister, Contra, but it's a similar experimental menu (actually prefer Wildair's).

A pretty bad incident occurred during our meal (hence my lowish rating), but management made it right afterwards, so I'm going not going to elaborate on it. Instead, I will focus on the food. My boyfriend and I came for dinner and tried:+ Marinated mussels+ Beef tartare + Chicory and boquerones+ Jerk shrimp skewers+ Stuffed chicken wing + Stuffed olives+ Wildair tart+ LES Paris brestThe highlights were the beef tartare and the desserts. Wish they had more of the highlights I had been looking forward to (like the fried squid), but everything we tried was tasty enough.
Be the first to ReplyThe food is beyond excellent and the reception at the door
The food is beyond excellent and the reception at the door by the hostess, is also pleasant. The downside? Dour service by my waiter. I was literally the first person to enter the restaurant today evening and the server couldn't be bothered. If the service is so blasé with ONE customer, what would they do on a night with a full-house?! This was probably the first (and hopefully the last) time that i didn't bother leaving a tip. I left in under 30 minutes, vowing never to come back for a dine-in experience. Takeout...yes..
