Lovely food and ambience.
Must try dishes are their maki rolls and chicken satay skewers. The robo server is a nice, even if gimmicky, touch
Be the first to ReplyI always love coming here.
I have been to going to their Mississauga location for years and have once tried the St. Catharines location as well- the Mississauga one definitely has better food and service. So Wind is amongst the nicer AYCE Japanese places which offers Thai food as well. A win win. It is a pricier than the competitors but I feel their quality is better as well. I often get their sushis and sashimis along with tons of fried appetizers like tempura. I also love their Thai curries they offer my favs are the fish and beef ones. Their selection of food items is endless. Definitely something for everyone. Like most places you order on a tablet and most items come out via robots which is pretty cool especially if you are going with kids. This location's interior is nicely done up and is always well staffed. The customer service is great. Lots of parking outside but it can get busy especially on the weekends.

This place is busy on weekends, so reservation is recommended. For AYCE, the food is served on small plates.
Be the first to ReplyThis AYCE sushi restaurant is the best one in Mississauga.
Waitstaff's are very attentive the quality of sashimi is fantastic so fresh large portions and very tasty. I only go to this place for their sashimi and all other food is okay in my taste. I'm a sashimi fan and always looking for more place with great quality of fresh fish

I used to love this restaurant however the quality and selection have dramatically dropped. Sushi: lack of selection and freshness Hot food: it all tastes the same. Beef somehow it's very difficult to chew through it. Desert: inconsistent qualify, Overall, If you are going to choose AYCE, go to Dragon Legend by Hwy 7. It's 10 times better even it's 6 ~7 dollars more. ( lobster, oyster, snow crab - depends on dates )

After a long day at Niagara Falls, my friend and I were famished and ready to eat! The parking lot was a little small but easy to find! The ambiance of the restaurant gave classy but still casual. Our server (forgot his name) was ready to help us at all times and answered our questions. This place is AYCE style, with both sushi and thai food. We liked more of the sushi, as it was big and fresh. I especially enjoyed their sashimi. The desserts at the end were also good but too sweet for me. I loved the crème brûlée though. I can't recommend this place enough. It has everything you can ask for and more! I hope to come back here the next time I'm in Canada.

Swing by wind jap and thai when in town; it's so good i was here twice in the last three days! Like that the portions aren't huge. This is good because if u order something that sucks, ur not stuck eating it. The food taste pretty good, even my babacare likes the food here! Had a good time w my two birds, chim and embo; would def come back again, but not in the next few days. Still so full from tonight's dinner, my bock bock feels big right now lol

This place is popular so you need reservations ahead! The Japanese food is good, we loved that they brought out some meats and seafood on skewers and offered it to guests Brazilian style. We also liked how fresh the sashimi is here. The service is great, I couldn't take pictures of the food fast enough because they came to our table really fast! The Ambiance is modern and trendy, but the bathrooms need better maintenance (half the toilets were backed up). will definitely come back in the future to try more of their food!
Be the first to ReplyThis place was shockingly good.
I came here on a Thursday night with no reservations, a party of 2, and was seated within 10 minutes. They had the cutest little robot that showed us to our table very quickly. The restaurant is decorated elegantly and is not too loud. Ordering is mostly done through a tablet. Drinks are ordered through the servers. I love the robots bringing food out! They have little cat faces that smile when their job is done and they race off to deliver food to another table. The Thai food was especially delicious and unexpected. I really liked the noodles and the green curry. I also didn't expect the people walking around serving stuff on skewers like Brazilian BBQ places, but without the big scary knives - everything was pre-portioned and served with tongs. The presentation of the sashimi was very nice, too. Everything came on top of a big bowl of ice, so that the fish stays nice and cold. All in all, this was a great experience, and totally worth going back to!
Be the first to ReplyDinner menu is vast.
I sampled items from appetizers, soups, salads, chef specials, rolls, curries, sashimi, grilled pineapple and cuts of meat that they came around and served.I enjoyed the steak, it was tender. Really liked the grilled pineapple, it was crispy and juicy. Torched fish was very fresh and tasty. Ate a lot of torched salmon, tuna and squid. Would have liked to try an assortment of rolls but the person I dined with had many restrictions. The restaurant is massive. We had made reservations in advance. Without them, the wait would have been 40+ minutes. Went late and the place was packed!Robots serve the food. Sometimes they get it wrong. We had a couple of instances where they went back and forth searching for tables. I didn't like the concept as the food is exposed. We had a blip in service when two waiters mixed up our orders and brought out more food than necessary. Nevertheless, made do and tried to consume everything without being wasteful.I'll return for other dishes as there were plenty of selections I wanted to try and couldn't.Drinks are an added expense, which sucks when you're already paying so much. I discovered green tea was additional. Everywhere else, it's included.Creme brule was delicious. Saved space for 6 of them at the very end. Left stuffed from dessert.

I wasn't expecting much when I walked in thinking this is just another AYCE joint. The interior was tasteful and the service was great. We didn't do the AYCE menu and opted for the a la carte menu to try it out. We ordered from the signature rolls menu, short rib, beef teriyaki, pad see ew, and a few other appetizers. I was blown away by the cooked food at this AYCE joint - everything was seasoned properly and cooked to a perfect temp (nothing was over cooked! Which is typically the case with AYCE joints). We didn't have any items that contained raw, but as I walked around the restaurant, I could see the other tables that had, and the raw items looked fresh. We will be back for their AYCE. The price point of the AYCE menu is on the higher side and for its location, it is rivaling the price point of downtown Toronto joints.

My friends and I went to Wind Japanese & Thai for thanksgiving and a friend's birthday. I made reservation way in advance of the date, however when we arrived, the associate at the front claimed there was not a reservation under my name. Thankfully the incident was resolved quickly and we were seated down in a very professional manner. There were 10 of us on a very busy Thursday night at the restaurant. We were given two iPads to order from. We had two robots to deliver our food. As a note, only grab food items in which the robot lights up. The service staff failed to mentioned the small little note to us, however we figured it out eventually. The food was fresh and delicious, I was really nervous because AYCE can be a hit or miss. Everyone enjoyed their food thoroughly. They did bring out the bbq meats at the end of the night. I was waiting for the grilled pineapples, but it never made it out. A little FOMO.The cocktail drinks were delicious and their long islands were extra strong, I am not complaining. It was worth it.Overall, staffs are great minus the few steps. The robot sang happy birthday to our friend, he was mortified. Money went spent. Definitely a must-try and re-visit after our dine in experience.

I have been craving to try come to this place since last year and finally I was able to dine last Sunday since we were down from Niagara area. Compared to other AYCE sushi places they have an extensive selection of choices and with a twist of Brazilian buffet. As we were immediately seated a waiter carrying a spit of grilled meats from beef chicken and pork serving down your plate while you try to scan the menu on the tablet and thinking what to order. Fish quality is ok but not the best, avoid ordering fancy sushi dishes for they came with some mayo based sauces that makes you full easily. Im disappointed how they serve the salmon sashimi instead of getting a perfectly sliced pieces I got a slab. They also have a fancy robot server which I forgot to take a photo. I would give it another try and this time I will try to make better choices. And by the way be careful of the server who keeps serving you meat on the skewer, by the time your order comes you are already full.

Definitely not recommend this restaurant. I also don't what's the waitress proud of?
Be the first to ReplyThis has to be my favourite AYCE sushi chain.
It may be pricey but it's definitely worth the value with the amount of items you can get. The food quality is also up there! My favourite dishes are:Tempura shrimp - this comes with sweet sauce and the batter is really good.Salmon Teriyaki - my go to if you aren't a big fan of raw fish!Torched salmon - this one is really tasty with the mayo they give. It has this unique "torched" flavour I would say.Sashimi - salmon quality is really good. Can you tell that I really like salmon?
Be the first to ReplyI came here with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday.
We were glad we made a reservation as there was a long wait of approximately one hour and 30 min.The interior design was absolutely outstanding compared to other standardized sushi restaurants. As for the food, the sushi was fresh and the cooked items such as the kalbi was all excellent. Would happily come back here again.

I came here during All You Can Eat lunch on a Saturday afternoon. I didn't have a reservation (they told me reservations are not required), so I wasn't seated right away. They put me on a waiting list and was able to get a table half an hour later. I'm so glad I waited for a table because the food was so good and the service was top notch . They had a robot server which I thought was interesting. I really loved the fried calamari and their selection of freshly made sushi rolls. I also order their take out catering platters and they're always fresh and tasty. Highly recommend this spot! By far my favourite sushi restaurant in the GTA.
