Im not sure if this restaurant should even keep its michelin star with the low standard that it as gone.
The high end cantonese cuisine felt boring and common to any other cantonese restaurant, is it really a worth tasting menu?
The appetizer squid was tasteless and chewy, the bbq pork was a little dry.
The aged yellow wine overpowered the lobster dish.
The pigeon was crispy but underseasoned.
The MOMENT that the experience went downfall was when we were going to have our final course the fried rice with seasonal black truffle.
Usually when you receive a shaved seasonal truffle you get to have it shaved in front of you or atleast presented to smell its magnificent aroma.
So I asked the waiter if they were going to shave the truffle and he said he did not know if they would, so he would check with the chef.
After sometime the dish came with the truffles already shaved, and I could clearly see the quality of the truffle were really bad, and dried out.
I ask the waiter why they did not shave it on the table nor inform me that it would not be shaved infront of the guest, and he replied to me that:
"the chef said the truffle quality was not good so they had to shave it in the back" Im like what?!?!?
THEN why in the first place would the restaurant even serve me the truffle if the quality was not good? And still charge me the whole tasting menu?
I did not forward with the unprofessional handeling of the waiter, but they did not even follow up with any apologies or recovery.
Towards the end of the meal I could see the service rushing to clean up and when they served us the petit four it was incomplete because they did not have enough! For 4 guest we could not taste all the petit four.
Left pretty disappointed, disatisfied with the honors this restaurant used to get.
Could be that the pandemic affected the quality, but atleast affect the prices to no?
