Nice time share near the beach
The WorldMark is in a convenient location in Kihei across from the beach and walkable to restaurants and shops. We stayed for 10 days in a one-bedroom unit. We got a recently renovated room on the third floor. We didn’t have a view, but it was quiet and peaceful. The pool and hot tub are great, but the WiFi, which you pay for, was like bad dial-up. The TVs aren’t smart tv’s, so you can’t connect to your Netflix or Hulu accounts, and they don’t rent movies. When I asked about it, the front desk person suggested I go to Walmart to pick up an HDMI cord to connect my iPad. Hopefully they will upgrade their TV’s during more renovations. Overall all, though, it was a great stay.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing and dirty
We have stayed at this property many times over the years. It is getting renovated which it desperately needed. What hotels/condos/rentals need to remember is if something in the unit is not clean then the whole unit is perceived as dirty..The unit was not vacuumed well. The surfaces were not wiped down. There were dried paint drips on the kitchen counter and on the bathroom floor. There is some kind of dried adhesive on the curb of the shower. I tried to scrub it off but it won’t budge, it looks dirty. There is pencil writing on the bathroom counter, calculations from the construction crew I think. So I’m sure the bathroom counters were not cleaned properly. The towels are very bad, thin and scratchy. We went to a local discount store and bought towels (I will donate them when we leave). Since we are going to be here for three weeks we have to clean our unit and change our own sheets. This may sound petty but we’ve paid a lot to WorldMark over the years and I’m not sure I would do it again.
Be the first to ReplyExcept for the construction, peacefull
ground level was musty smelling Kitchen was clean and well appointed. Pool area was clean and pool was well looked after and here were many children. Too bad the corp office couldnt make effort to renovate and donate old suite kitchens and bathrooms, some with marble counter tops and double sink kitchens, to the rebuild effort in Lahaina. Made me cry to hear it was all going to land fill.
Be the first to ReplyKihei WorldMark stay - Sept/Oct
Checked into this property over a week ago with two days before checkout. It’s been two years since our family was here, and due to the Lahaina tragedy, we were torn about our visit; but after multiple calls to the Kihei WorldMark and other guest services, we were encouraged to come to help prop up their tourism/economy. This property is undergoing renovations so there were limited units available, meaning half full. Parking is limited due to all the contractor vehicles and construction materials. We stayed in a renovated 2 bedroom in building 4 (behind the pool/gym. The new hardwood floors in the living area was much more appealing, odorless, and clean. The bedrooms still had low pile carpeting. My wife was happy with the new taller toilets (with self-closing lids) that didn’t wiggle every time you sat or got up from it. Other new items: Appliances, mattresses, furniture (living room couches much more comfortable than the old ones), all living room and bedroom lamps include USB charge ports, Air conditioners that are quiet with wall control that’s functional, modern style ceiling fans, shower enclosures and fixtures. There are new aerobic machines in the gym: 2 ellipticals, 2 stationary bikes, and 4 treadmills. Looks like the dumbbells only go to 30lbs, all heavier ones are gone. Because of the Lahaina closures and reduced visitors, there was only one food truck onsite for dinners, and even then it was sometimes there or not. It’s been a pleasant and enjoyable stay so far and after all the units are renovated, this place will be busy and full.

This is one of the best place to stay, like a home away from home! Everything you need is there, just bring food to cook! The staff are friendly and courteous. Beautiful landscape, beautiful atmosphere!

Stayed here 3 times in the past 3 years so I have an excellent perspective and will give my honest non biased review of this location in Kihei, Maui. The resort is really dated. The staff is not friendly or welcoming. Unfortunately, I did not see many smiles from the workers at the front desk. The maintenance workers never smiled or greeted you when passing by. This is due to the lack of training and from what I hear staff quitting which is understandable since only being paid minimum wage. I arrived at the resort on 5/25/2023 excitedly anticipating a relaxing and enjoyable stay at this centrally located resort. However, from the moment I entered the check-in process, I was confronted with difficulties and treatment that left me feeling marginalized and discriminated against. I was subjected to blatant bias that not only shocked me but also deeply hurt me. The check-in process was fraught with challenges. Despite having a confirmed reservation, the specific room I reserved was not honored. I paid for a room with twins beds but received a room with one queen bed so one of my kids had to sleep on the floor in Hawaii! I encountered unnecessary delays and unprofessional behavior from your staff. It seemed as if my presence inconvenienced them, as they failed to address my concerns promptly and efficiently. The lack of empathy and basic courtesy displayed by your team members was disconcerting and tarnished the Image of your resort. As a Worldmark owner since 2002, I asked to speak to the Guest Services Manager- Lia O. who I expressed my dissatisfaction with. Her response was to "call owner care" and they will deal with the situation as she offered me their phone number to call. Ultimately, after 3 hours on the phone with owner care, they did not fix the situation and this matter is not resolved.

First off let me say the staff are very kind and accommodating, however the property and rooms could use a lot of work. We stayed in the suite, which has a mini kitchenette (everything except an oven) including washer/dryer, dishes/pots and pans which you may need. Our room had a Murphy bed, you can tell it’s clearly outdated and in our opinion should be removed and replaced with an actual queen size bed. There is enough room to do so and it would make sleeping much more comfortable. Our sheets were too large for our bed and hung over onto the carpet, which is old and needs replacement also. They do have signs showing they are remodeling and this is much needed. Also, the staff could do a better job of walking the ground and cleaning the trash that’s thrown around. We had the same debris outside our room for the past 4 days and it’s out in clear sight. This is not the quality we are used to in a worldmark so I hope the company provides the support this small resorts needs to boost their ratings and quality just as they do the others in the states. Good location with a great ABC store the next block over (lots of grocery items needed) along with souvenirs and beach items. Also several restaurants in walking distance and a delicious cafe next door (Kihei Caffe- - must try if you’re here!) beach access is also across the street. A few food trucks (bath delicious) are parked outside the resort daily along with shaved ice bus. Give it a try if you’re thinking of staying here but know it’s very very basic with much needed work. No thrills or exceptional rooms that you may be used to. Pick a different room other than the suite if you want a comfortable nights sleep. Rooms need black our curtains and the lights from the property come shining through and keep your room lit unfortunately.

Has all you'd expect of resort property with a few extra whistles and bells. Coupled with a beautiful balcony view of the ocean and sunset; stay at the property includes access to a pool, spa, various activities...and is in close proximity to the Kihei strip. Public transportation is accessible by a few blocks stroll downhill. The resort boasts ample parking, nearby food carts, an ABC convenience store, various restaurants and shopping centers...as well as quick access to one of the better coastal fronts in Maui. The area is relatively safe, but not without its problems. Homelessness is on the rise in this area. There is some drug use in nearby areas. An overpopulation of feral animals, mostly cats; are present. In spite of these problems, they are negligible to the experience, and do little to diminish it. The exterior and grounds of the resort are well maintained and modern. However, the interiors of the rooms themselves need some updating to paint, wallpaper, carpet, and the beds. By no means though, does that extend to the resort being run down. Some minor updates would suffice. Staff are courteous, efficient and knowledgeable. A great time can be had here by families or couples. Would never hesitate to recommend them for a quick, or longer stay if preferred. One can definitely appreciate their time in Maui here. Be forewarned, the area is not cheap. Plan accordingly.
Be the first to ReplyGreat people, but the rooms need remodeled
The Good: The location, the people, ample parking. The resort is on Maui (duh) and across the street from a great beach. The staff at the resort were friendly, and efficient. We even went to an "owner update", i.e., a sales pitch. We knew it was a sales pitch going in but I wanted the incentives for attending; we declined their offer and that was that. We also like the supplies that are offered there - towel and linen exchange, laundry soap, dishwasher soap and detergent, bar soaps, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. (One slight downer is that the laundry detergent is no longer fragrance-free.) We're beach-people, not pool-people, so we never used the pool. It's nice but not extravagant - no waterslide, no lazy river. The Not So Good: The rooms are in dire need of a remodel. It's not for lack of housekeeping - the carpets are threadbare, as are the window coverings. The washer and dryer are old, with rust spots in the dryer. The counters are old - some cracked and peeling countertops, doors are beat up, kitchen and bath fixtures are just old and worn down. (Side note: why have carpet in the living and dining room at all? You come in wet from the beach or pool, and must walk on carpet to a bathroom/washing machine/master bedroom. Take a carpet, add water everyday, and you get a musty/moldy smell.) The Hopeful: The remodel is again scheduled for March 2023. We have heard this before, as it was scheduled for remodel in 2020, I think. COVID delays, supply chain delays, permit delays. Very frustrating as a WorldMark owner, as we continued to pay dues even when the resorts were closed during covid - they received their revenue and had fewer expenses. The remodel is supposed to be complete gut-job - all new floors, countertops, cabinets, appliances, plumbing fixtures, etc. We have been to WorldMark Kona and those remodeled rooms are fantastic - plus carpet only in the bedrooms. If the remodel in Kihei is like Kona then I would give this a five star rating.
Be the first to ReplySleepless in Maui
The bed in the studio style condo/apt was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in. Felt like it was probably 15 yrs old. The front desk was zero help when asked what they could do to help us out. The chairs in the room were equally as uncomfortable making it difficult to enjoy watching tv, reading, relaxing. We ended our stay 3 days early and moved to a hotel. Other Worldmarks we've stayed in are top quality.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing for a worldmark
We have belonged to worldmark for years. This one is very disappointing. It is years overdue for a remodel. The carpet needs to go, the paint is in very bad shape, the mirror in the bathroom is rusty, the refrigerator door opens the wrong way, the freezer leaks, the furniture is worn, and the kitchen light overheated and would go off, and there is horrible lighting in the bedroom. It is a great location and I really hope they remodel the resort asap.
