Wye Oak Tavern Frederick Reviews
Voltaggios Brothers Wye Oak
Beautiful, its in the sanctuary of the old Visitation Academy and Convent. It is high ceilings which carries noise. Not a issue for us. The stained glass windows above the bar/alter is beautiful. We had the filet, pot roast and roasted half chicken.

Wye Oak Tavern delivers one of the best dining experiences in Frederick. The building itself is unforgettable, a former church with soaring ceilings and stained glass that creates a warm, elegant atmosphere. Service was outstanding. Our server, Ste
Ambiance and serving staff may be a little overrated.
We were looking forward to a good meal at a well-reviewed Frederick restaurant. We had reservations on a Sunday at 5:30 hoping to miss some of the ambient noise that is mentioned in many reviews; unfortunately the noise level was already a little too
I wish I had more positives to report.
The positives, the place was beautiful and right downtown. The negatives were massive and outweighed any good. First, it was impossible to hear anyone. It was so loud and hard to hear the waitress or anyone at the table. Second, the waitress neve

While the venue of the place is a home run, the food prep quality strikes out, especially given the steep prices. I ordered the salmon dish, with charred scallions. One bite and I couldn't eat more. The salmon, itself, was over cooked, the sc

We flew in just to try the Voltaggio brothers' new restaurant, so our expectations were high--and we were excited. We were seated immediately, which was great, but unfortunately at what was easily the worst table in the house: a cramped two-top
Disappointing for such a beautiful restaurant.
The steak was rare when medium was requested. The house salad and baby romaine salads are just awful. I couldn't eat either of them. How do you mess up a salad? The Rockfish is OK but not special. It is on a tomato based sauce that is odd f
It's easy to make reservations here.
This place is nestled in the middle of a Marriott hotel. With a church feel to the place and the high ceilings this place is breathtaking. We were sat upstairs by the piano/organ with a top down view of the restaurant. We ordered the 45 day aged pri

Delicious food and great vibes! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and everything I tried was full of flavor. It's a beautiful place to eat, set in what was once a church, which makes the experience even more special. Definitely a spot I

I saw the restaurant featured on Instagram with its fancy decorations and high ceilings, so we drove an hour and a half to have dinner there. Unfortunately, we weren't able to sit in the main dining hall, even though there were plenty of tables
Tasty but loud
Overall, we really enjoyed the place EXCEPT for the noise level, which was totally unacceptable. Do some sound suppression, please. My partner fully enjoyed the pork chop with polenta. I liked the sweet potato side and LOVED the parmesan cheesecake,

Delicious! Festive! Admittedly, I am a Bryan Voltaggio fangirl, but our anniversary dinner at Wye Oak was picture perfect and delicious. I have a shellfish allergy, so new restaurants are nerve wracking! Not here. Order the pork loin and beet pastram
Did Not Meet Expectations - Not Even Close
We had a crazy dining experience at Wye Oak Tavern , some good, some bad. The main dining room is stunning but the noise level is very high. We were seated in a timely manner and our waiter acknowledged our special occasion (birthday). He acknowledg
The ambiance is amazing and the service is impeccable.
We sat on the mezzanine right beside the organ overlooking the main dining area. Now that that's out of the way let's get to the food. We split the Parmesan Cheesecake, Benton's Ham, Tavern Burger, shells & cheese, and the apple
Nothing special.
Visited the restaurant for my anniversary dinner. Hard to find the restaurant entrance due to lack of clear signage. Even inside the building, it's hard to navigate to the front of the host stand. They do not give you the menu when you are sat.
We came here last night for my daughter's birthday.
It was my second time dining here--I like to give places a fair shot before forming an opinion. Different meals, different drinks, different night. Unfortunately, the experience stayed the same. Let's start with the good: The space is absolute

Fans of Top Chef will remember the Voltaggio Brothers (Bryan and Michael). Wye Oak Tavern is their first joint venture in their hometown of Frederick, Maryland. I had dinner at Wye Oak Tavern last week with my husband and his aunt and uncle, and we h
We traveled to Frederick to have dinner at the Wye Oak Inn on our anniversary, based on a glowing review in the Washington Post. We had a wonderful dining experience. Our server was very friendly and had great suggestions. We decided on the coddie
This was a last minute decision to dine here.
After reviewing the reviews, we decided to give it a try. First impression last, the hostesses were impersonal due to the fact we didn't have a reservation. There were tons of empty table that were reserved. However, we ask to if the bar was ava
A One and Done for Me.
I was there with family and friends as we celebrated the birthdays of two friends. I am struggling to give the Voltaggio Brothers 3 out of 5 stars. I am giving one for the interior. I appreciate the thought that went into the design, showcasing a
Too loud, so-so food, lots of money.
Mediocre, overpriced and super-noisy. Our server was unfriendly and could not conceal her distaste for the two nondrinkers who did not order wine or cocktails. There was a sloppy and wilted salad, oversalted mashed potatoes, a so-so dish of rigatoni
Beautiful place but not good food
The place was beautiful. The food was not good. I was so disappointed. It was so expensive for not being good. I adore the brothers that own it but the food was not good and we were in a big group and had a variety of the food they had to offer.
Food Fabulous - Wait Staff and Noise Level Not So Much
Food was really wonderful. I had the chicken, my son had the pork chop, and my husband had a crab cake with vegetables on the side. Wait staff inattentive and borderline rude. As other people have stated it is very noisy so not great for conversation
Great Mother’s Day visit!
We loved wye oak from the service to food and cocktails. We had a variety of drinks and lived the deviled eggs appetizer. I had the prime rib and my wife had the burger, both cooked excellently and nice cuts of beef. Great desserts as well. Allison
Sublime food in a truly special place
Excellent, truly excellent, food from a first class chef, Bryan Voltaggio. Really unique, tasteful interiors in a former church. There is a nod to the space's history in the bar and tavern seating area. But in the larger dining area the history
New and Cosmopolitan
The decor is absolutely stunning although I am not a fan of religious material. The bar was impressive and the drink menu interesting. I ordered a Hat Trick, which has a hockey connotation and I love the Washington Capitals. The restaurant was quit
