After two ice cold suntory malt beer, I had omakase with both a5 and iberico. The beginning wasn't great as the wet karaake felt like a desert. chicken heart was over cooked for my taste. The rest was great all seasoned very well. They have dassai blue for 80 dollars which I think is a decent value. Very good service. Nice ambiance. Highly recommend.
Loved the ambiance and the food.
Reminded us of a place we went to in Osaka. Service was great! The plates were paced correctly and the staff sang happy birthday to my husband. Definitely be back!

Only ordered a la carte (seems better value), so thoughts are based on that. Good quality skewers and variety of cuts/flavors - yuzu koshou, gizzard, etc. I would say that ambiance isn't great - can feel a little gimmicky with the separated sections and bamboo interior - but the food does a good job of fulfilling the craving for authentic yakitori.

Made a reservation at the restaurant as my wife and I had been looking forward to it. 12 hours before she was diagnosed with a contagious medical issue and we cancelled the reservation. Was charged $100 for doing the right thing. We chose not to expose other guests and restaurant staff to the illness and there was absolutely no sympathy. Emailed the restaurant explaining the situation including offering a doctor note. Was told by manager that the charge would stand and the policy states regardless of any excuse whatsoever (I.e. accident, flight delays, anything at all) the policy was the policy. No exceptions. Unless you are 100% certain an act of god is not going to occur before your reservation, I highly do not recommend eating at this establishment. Clearly any method to make money is the policy.
Avoid at all costs
Worst service ever. Do not go 2 party celiac guest. Chef said could not accomodate. Worst experience ever, they even didnt let us entrr the venue. Never ever coming back again
A Unique Dining Experience ( for chicken lovers)!
I enjoyed a very unique dinner at Yakitory Torishin last night. We felt a little bit like “ outsiders” since most of the customers were Japanese, however, we were treated with great respect and while my wife wasn’t wild about a menu that was primarily about grilled chicken served on skewers in many different variations, I loved the presentations, the servers and my dinner. While I would love to return, my wife felt no matter how many ways they served the parts of the chicken, it was too much poultry! I happen to love chicken and was delighted with the simplicity of the dining rooms, the elegant way everything was presented and served so I have overjoyed with my dinner.
My recent visit to Torishin left me with mixed feelings
My recent visit to Torishin left me with mixed feelings about the overall dining experience. The restaurant has a sleek and modern ambiance, which created a pleasant and elegant atmosphere. The staff was courteous and attentive, offering prompt service throughout the meal. Our party opted for the Omakase Special, which comes with a whole host of yakitori and dishes. However, the differences between how each individual meat yakitori was marinated was very subtle at times. Although they were definitely delicious, I wish we had gotten much more different flavor profiles emphasized in each one, especially considering how high this meal was priced. The panna cotta at the end was very good, though! Overall, Torishin is a decent option for those seeking a unique yakitori experience in a modern setting, but you should consider doing a la carte instead of the omakase skewers to get the most bang out of your buck.

Food is excellent, I feel their Yakitori is better than the good Yakitori places in Tokyo. They have a good selection of Japanese Sake. The employees are all kind and attentive. We enjoyed their great dinner.

Service was very polite and prompt, food was tasty and priced well, ambiance was also really nice. Been back a few times since my first visit and it's consistent as per above.

I enjoyed our meal here, but I would say that it was "very good" and not "wow, amazing." Everything was delicious, certainly. I really enjoyed the chicken breast with shiso and plum, and the rice dish. The wagyu was also excellent. I was never a big fan of meat growing up, and so I was worried that I was going to struggle with some of the skewers I wasn't familiar with. But even the gristle was good -- texturally nothing gave me a problem as it was all well cooked (or, cooked medium, but with a nice crispy char). Service was pretty scattershot, however, and while our server was good, everything seemed fairly chaotic. It wasn't simply omakase as "chef's choice"; it was an odd "chef's pace" which wasn't well organized. I'm not sure I would eat here again, to be honest. Sort of a "one and done" kind of place.
Torishin is truly a masterclass in the art of grilling.
Upon arriving, the front of the house notified us that two spots were open at the chef's counter, so my wife and I of course took advantage of this great opportunity. We both ordered the Chef's Omakase which consists of 6 meat and 2 vegetable skewers accompanied by various small bites, 1 special grilled meat (we selected the Wagyu), 1 special rice bowl (we selected the Mentaiko), and your choice of dessert. From the meat skewers, my favorite was definitely the chicken oyster. The skin was crispy and flavorful and the tableside lemongrass/sansho pepper really complemented the smoky flavors from the grill. The Wagyu was a nice change from the different chicken skewers we were trying, cooked super tender and paired well with the dehydrated, almost beef jerky like seaweed strands that came with the dish. There were various small dishes served throughout the omakase, but my favorite was a cold soba noodle that had a rich dashi broth. As the dish is served cold, it was a refreshing palette cleanser to prepare you for the rest of the meal. The mentaiko rice bowl was a great finishing dish. The combination of the rice, seaweed, mentaiko, and umami fish broth altogether made me feel quite warm and complete as I stepped out into the cold streets of NYC. Staff was super accommodating as the recommended time to allot for the omakase specials is 2 hours, but we needed to leave earlier to catch a Broadway musical. Not only did they seat us at the chef's counter, they also expedited the serving speed, so we had ample time to walk to the theatre afterwards before showtime. Aesthetically, the restaurant looks very old school casual, but refined. There's no shortage of fragrances here as meats are being grilled every minute. Overall, a fantastic experience in NYC if you get the chance!
It was good, but not great.
I sat at the chef's table. The cold noodle dishes were not for me. It was not a good value, I would not do it again. It was like having a private chef, which was nice, but the bottom like is that it was mostly chicken skewers cooked on a hibachi.
There are Better Yakitori Places in NYC
The assistant manager is an extremely rude and nasty human being. Their policy of treating solo customers as 2nd class citizens is barbaric and makes zero sense. Solo customers can never get a table and can never order a la carte. They betting 2 ppl will always eat more than one person is comical to me because I’m known to eat more than 3 ppl. In any case, they only see profits and know nothing about hospitality and treating the customer right especially the assistant manager who has absolutely no social skills.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.

Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it? |
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid? |
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted. |
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from? |
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered? |
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.

Give the best answerConcierge change fulfillment time
I posted a request for a reservation this Thursday between 6:30 and 8 pm and initially the potential seller said it would be fulfilled by today. Now they changed it that they will only fulfill it by 5pm that same day. Basically I would have an hour and a half to get to the restaurant. Is this allowed?

This app is a catfish and overrun by people programming “bots” and algorithms. It makes it frustrating for someone not well versed in this to have any movement. I thought this would be a fun side hustle, but unfortunately it’s become like any other “side hustle”. Don’t waste your time with this crap. Not a question, just a suggestion. Also don’t pay these fake “gurus” hundreds of dollars to teach you. Might as well sign up for a software class. 😕
