I hate to leave bad reviews, but I will make this review as it compares to the Yakko San that I've been going to for a decade. The restaurant is now under new ownership, though you would not know it by looking at the sign. On a Saturday night, there was a DJ blasting music, and the menu has changed, I loved this place for the authentic Japanese food, but according to the waitress, they are in the process of completely overhauling the restaurant and menu. I wish I could tell the new owners, don't try and reinvent the wheel.
Be the first to ReplyI used to like this place.
The food is good, good value. Tonight they are blasting music inside the place with a DJ. I love music, I didn't come for that, when I say it's blasting I'm mean you can out have a conversation in there. I'm not sure who's idea it was but the outside seats are full and people are leaving. Too bad. Someone please post when it's a restaurant again and I'll be happy to go back.

After many years in business the place sold to another owner who gutted the menu. No longer are there any Korean dishes and although the sushi was fresh it was neither traditional or satisfying. When I complained that the seaweed salad was slimy I was told this is how the new owners make it. I guess Yakko San should've stayed at the old place on Dixie highway rather than expand to this new place on 163rd. I wish the new owners would stop advertising as though it was the same Yakko San because take my word it isn't. I will miss Yakko San as it was a South Florida institution. And now just another loud, large, mediocre and common restaurant trying to appeal to the masses.

just ordered a Ramen with doordash, it was tasty until I saw a melted plastic Togo top in my broth...I only order a ramen so there was no small container in my order... I already received a full refund from doordash but come on Be more careful

This is the most ridiculous restaurant - the food is decent and it's been good for take out but now they have a stupid rule that you can't order over the phone or pick up I have to order only with Uber eats - anyway tonight was the 4th and final time I tried to order from them but had the delivery from Uber messed up. I live 5 mins away and taking my order would be quicker and most efficient - they have so far lost $400 from me as I placed my other sushi orders elsewhere and will be losing a lot more as I will no longer be a Customer !
Be the first to Replyomgg i cannot stress this enough.
BEST. RAMEN. EVER. everything is delicious and i would eat here every day of my life if it wasn't an hour away from me. but you need to go. don't hesitate it is delicious.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful entrance and ambiance.
ย Seated quickly with our choice of table on a Sunday afternoon. Unlike the frustrating sports bar down the street, we received excellent service.Great date spot to share some delicious sexy sushi. We ordered Tonkatsu Ramen, Lobster Sushi, Gyozas and Takoyaki. All were delicious.

I usually never write reviews but I had to speak out in order to save people from coming here. Some items are decent but one must be very selective. Service is ok. Management is one of the lowest quality/grade I have ever seen. I almost always take food to go if there is some left over but in this case I probably ate 25% of my udon noodle dish and threw the rest. Overall the main point is that this establishment is not an authentic Japanese restaurant, if you are not looking for actual Japanese food instead some imitation, this place is for you!

I tried this place with a friend while on vacation on Thursday(1/13/2022. So disappointed. The service was horrible. Almost on-existent. Then was almost charged for something we had canceled b/c it never came to the table. But when we were almost finished we asked why it never came and the server said she had put it in. We never got it. But when we got the bill, guess what was on it. Check your bills. We had asked 2 different people to pack something to go and it took a third time to get a box for it. Ramen was so so. Dumplings were bad. had a very funny steamed taste. Whatever they are steaming with should be checked. I was so happy to get out of there. needless to say, never going back there again.

Honestly I was not expecting this mid-range sushi place to be as good as it was, but it was quite good -- it was chosen by our friends as a place to hold an anniversary dinner and we had a table for 6 adults and two teens on a Thursday night when the place (which is pretty big) was relatively empty. Quite a large menu, some things on it were surprisingly legitimate Japanese for what appears to be Chinese ownership. The food we ordered was good but the real highlight was the server, Windy, an older Chinese lady who has been there for 17 years, who was quite experienced and picked up very quickly that we wanted to eat the more authentic stuff. If you get her, she's fantastic.
Be the first to ReplyIt used to be much much better.
...It was always on my sushi restaurant list when I would come to town....went there last night, the udon plates were tasteless...the sushi, mediocre at the very best...service was polite by hostess that attended us....the menu used to be extensive, now it's like a fast food diner...one little menu with limited options...Time to find the next sushi spot, this one is dead on arrival.

I visited the restaurant with 2 friends on July 6th, 2021 at 7 pm. The food was ok, but the ambient temperature of the restaurant was very warm & uncomfortable. The manager said he could do nothing to help with this. Our waitress was very nice, and tried to justify for the temperature, but she was sweating too.

CHECK YOUR BILL!!!! They over charged on almost everything on our bill and when we brought it to our attention they said that we custom ordered rolls when we ordered directly off the menu and even pointed to what we ordered. When manager came over instead of apologizing and fixing the bill he started shacking and screaming at us. At this point we realized they do this all the time and this time caught them and this is why they had this reaction to such an easy fix. I thought the error was only a few dollars but once proper adjustments were made the difference was $18! to make the situation even more crazy the manager was in such distress he shoved one of our children as he was walking past her in a rage. This was clearly a huge scam that they got caught in.

SCAM ALERT!!! Double check your bill!!! They manipulate the bill in various ways which makes the total price of an item almost double than the menu price. That is pure dishonesty and stealing. When I asked them about certain items on the bill and why they were priced differently than the menu, they said I since I ate it, they won't correct the bill?? Then they said that is how I ordered the item, when in fact I ordered directly from the menu. It seems as though they do this often because when I asked the manger about the bill he seemed nervous and oddly enraged. He was physically shaking and started screaming. His hostility left the entire restaurant uncomfortable. Very unprofessional staff. They ended up correcting the bill but I'm NEVER coming back here!!!! The incident could have been easily fixed but the manger and waitress escalated the matter, which was not necessary. Food is okay but over priced + the shady charges....There better options in the neighborhood that do business honestly!

Used to be awesome, especially years ago when it was a tiny hidden gem on Dixie Highway. This was an intimate place, filled with Asians and young people well past midnight. Chefs would go here after work to eat unusual Japanese tapas at the bar where the food was mostly prepared in front of you.Now it's a huge space near the beach, very commercial, with TVs everywhere. The food is now adequate rather than great. There has been another problem the last several years: they can't seem to bring the appetizers out first. We like to eat the sushi BEFORE the main courses are served. Last time, we asked for the sushi first, the rest of the order came out one by one. My six year old daughter was starving and was served last. And only after calling the waiter three times. The staff used to be special, now mostly mediocre and uninterested. And if you ask for the manager, they refuse. I do know who the manager is, and saw him on the way out, but he laughs everything off.End result, we go much less frequently and won't be ordering appetizers.
