🤮 1/5 - How does this place still have 4 stars? I've been here

How does this place still have 4 stars? I've been here three times. Twice before COVID, once after. It used to be great, but the place has gone tremendously downhill since COVID. I was so excited to go back, but it was truly the worst experience. Idk what was worse: the food or the service. JK, the food was definitely bad enough to take the cake on this one. I went with my boyfriend and 4 friends so we ordered a lot from the menu and got a pretty good sampling of everything... and absolutely none of it was good. In fact, it was hardly even what I would describe as edible and we actually didn't eat most of it, so it was a complete waste of money and food. Absolutely a let down and mildly infuriating (or wildly infuriating, I'm just trying to be level-headed). The chef seems to have some odd obsession with lime. I don't hate lime by any means, but there can certainly be too much of a good thing and this was WAY too much. The bone marrow had practically ZERO marrow and was all just a bunch of chimichurri on top of a bone. Absolute let down. The sweetbreads were bad, the duck was SO DRY and over cooked. Truly every dish was worse than the last Now for the service, our waiter was rude and for some reason didn't like the way we were ordering? Because we were three couples, and each couple wanted something different (and some had dietary restrictions), we were ordering multiple things per couple, but he didn't like that -- apparently we were supposed to order multiple things for the whole table and share them amongst ourselves. I don't really see what difference it makes since we definitely ordered plenty (so he didn't need to worry about not getting a big tip... but I'll get to the tipping in a bit). So what difference does it make to him if we split all the dishes among the whole table or just between the couples? Please make it make sense. (And to clarify, we paid the tab all on one card, so it couldn't have been an issue about complicating the bill either.) Anyways on to the tip... There is an automatic service charge (I believe it was 18%? Could've been a full 20%) and it was made loud and clear that this was NOT a tip. So let me get this straight, you want me to pay a ton of money for absolutely inedible food, then you're gonna charge me 18-20% on top of that, then you expect me to tip another 20% for rude service? Why not just charge the amount you wanted to charge for the dishes then? Is it because you know this is absurd? Anyways the experience was all around terrible and put me in a foul mood and I will never return to this place again. Which is so sad, because the food here really used to be divine.
