Ichiran Brooklyn Reviews from The Last Year
We came here to see what the hype was about.
The host was very helpful and friendly, helped our big group order and seated us. I got the basic set with an egg and level 2 spice. It was definitely an above average ramen, and for a tonkotsu broth, it was better than most I've had. I think they do everything here very well. The broth was extremely umami but not overly fatty or oily, maybe a hair on the salty side. The spice was excellent and a perfect level to get the sweat going. The noodles were perfectly firm and absorbed the broth well. The egg for me was a hair over but I like my egg more runny. If you're here for a full meal, I recommend extra noodles if you want to finish the broth; I had half the bowl remaining when I finished my noodles. Worth the money? Yeah I'd say so and the experience was fun. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back here but if I were in the area, I would come back.
Wow!! Some of the best ramen I've had in the city!
Wow!! Some of the best ramen I've had in the city! Everything tastes really fresh and it comes out within like 5 minutes which is very convenient. It's also a no tipping establishment which is a huge plus! The ambiance is cozy and the set up is very fun and quirky. Whether you're dining alone or with a group of people I'd really recommend trying this place out! They really only have just the 1 type of ramen but it's definitely worth it. Honestly the only thing about it is that it's slightly pricey in my opinion but again, there's no tip and refills of the noodles are pretty cheap!
Great food, great service, could not ask for anything more
Great food, great service, could not ask for anything more ! When we got there around a Thursday night, there was already a line forming outside, it was about a 15 minute wait. While we waited, we picked out options for what to add onto our ramen. They charge for every topping. We were led to our individual booths, where you can also choose to open the sliding divider. We got the combination toppings which included dried seaweed, boiled egg, scallion, and chopped mushrooms. The yakibuta (premium chashu) is a great addition to the ramen but not necessary. This is a no-tipping restaurant!
Honestly I was soooo excited to try the actual ichiran
Honestly I was soooo excited to try the actual ichiran after only having packets for so long. By farrrr my favorite packet ramen even at the ridiculous pricepoint. But this place really had some terrible service( servers arguing infront of costumers) and food even when they have levels didnt seem to follow it by much. Ill try another branch with more hope
Super quick in and out high-quality ramen.
You order at the screen and then you will be sat by someone. They let you make adjustments such as adding more garlic, green onions, or spice although there are not many flavor options- just regular or veggie. They have the individual booths for single diners and tables for if you come in a group. The noodles came out so quickly! Good service and good food.
To start I love how technically equipped Ichiran is.
Upon arrival you are greeted & asked to make your order on a tablet, even with your large party you all make separate orders which some people might prefer (honestly I do) after your order is made you all are sat together and served with your correct order. Now to the ramen I wasn't quite educated on which one to get but the tablet recommended which one was the fan fav. It was good wasn't my favorite but overall it was a good ramen. You can customize your ramen down to the texture which I love. (I'm more of a firmer noodle lady lol) also get to choose your oil density & spice level. I enjoy how customizable it was & to be fair I should've taken more time to customize mine but over the aesthetic the service everything screamed Japan
Yummy in my tummy, I go here all the time.
Yummy yum yum yum yum yum yummy yum yum yum yum (that's me when I eat it)

This was my first meal after a 7-hour trek to NYC and it hit the spot! The service was quick and friendly. You first order at the front kiosk and then are seated by a host after being given a ticket. Another worker on the other side of the screen then takes your ticket, confirms your order, and brings it to you when it's ready. As a side note, the water is self-serve. I ordered the Classic Tonkotsu with a boiled egg, extra chashu, and veggies on the side, and it was more than enough food for me. My only gripe was that I had to peel the boiled egg myself. Other than that, the meal was delicious! I drank every last bit of the soup. The noodles are on the thinner side, but that's not a big deal for me. All in all, loved my experience here and highly recommend it!

Most delicious ramen I have ever had and the service was spectacular. Highly recommended
A great place to eat ramen if you are not Japanese! I've
A great place to eat ramen if you are not Japanese! I've lived in Japan and have had some of the best ramen in the city and I wouldn't put this place in the top 20. Nothing personal but just objective truth. I got the $26.95 bowl of ramen with the mushrooms and all toppings. I honestly went because it was close to a friends house and we needed to meet and talk and share. A great place for that! And the friendliest people working at the location! But the review is just on the food. Very hipsterized and nothing like a real, authentic bowl of ramen. The noodles were especially disappointing. But hey, you can win all the time! Not one Japanese person eating while I was there but mostly hipster-type people that you see in the neighborhood thrifting and drinking micro-brews.
Unbelievably good.
Unbelievably amazingly good Ramen, may be the best meal we had in New York. Fabulous service. Great all round experience.
