Tin Building by Jean-Georges New York Reviews from The Last Year

Considering that the tin building is home to one of the best vegan restaurants (AbcV), I am surprised by the dearth of vegan options at all the other points of sale within the tin building. A vegan breakfast cookie, an eggless egg sandwich, and a vegetable dosa wrap are all we're working with here. To all three: meh. AbcV is a beacon for plant-based people. Add more plant-based food? Five stars for selling morel mushrooms (albeit dried).

This place is absolutely stunning and features a wide array of food and edible goodies to host an elegant dinner party or give as gifts. It also has the most beautiful, well designed public restroom in all of NYC. Worth a visit just to use the loo!
Stopped by here after an appointment to grab a treat.
Went to the pastry bar and got a raspberry crossaint. It was delectable!!! So fluffy and outside perfect crisp. Inside it had half cream and half raspberry filling that was the perfect amount of sweetness. 10/10, eat outside for waterside views.
Waterfront.
Super clean. Fantastic bakery and coffee on the Hudson. Our go to spot. Don't you love yelps minimum word requirements. So useful.
Today was absolutely lovely at the Seaport.
The outdoor bar at tin is truly delightful even though the prices are steep . The bartender was incredibly friendly, and the lavender lemonade was simply divine.

I don't know who Jean-Georges is, but his building is foodie heaven! We came down to Seaport to walk around but it was cool and rainy and I stopped in for a cup of coffee...but found so much more! It's an indoor market with several different types of gourmet food stations, produce, cheeses, wine, a coffee bar, bakery, deli, butcher shop, plus chocolate and flowers! And more! (I was eyeing the crepe station!!) If I lived in New York I would definitely come here when planning special dinners or events. On two floors with an escalator, there are also restaurants, bars, a sushi bar, and cozy places to grab a bite if you want to dine in. I would love to come here with my husband to walk around and see everything, and it would be a fun place to meet friends too. See my pictures!

Honey cake was amazing and not too sweet, one of the best cakes I've had. Basque cheesecake was really good as well
Worth a visit, especially for foodies.
The Tin Building Market reminds me of Montreal's Jean Talon market but smaller and curated for New York. You'll find top line gourmet items not readily available elsewhere in the city - especially in the butcher department. If you're a rabbit fan, they have it! (Although I never thought I'd find chickens more expensive than Kosher or Whole Foods Organic, but obviously the pictured Silkie and Golden chickens must be a real treat!) That being said, it's unlikely you'd do your regular grocery shopping here unless you run a hedge fund, have a trust fund, or won the lottery. If you're hungry or thirsty now, The Tin Building packs assorted good options ranging from coffee spots with baked goods or bars to restaurants featuring different global cuisines. And... if you're a vegan or vegetarian, there's ABCV.
cool neighborhood (seaport/fidi).
this food court. upscale. polished. and there's nothing there that you cannot get at a nyc specialty store. went for after work drinks. def lost me at 15$ for can of generic beer.
I was visiting my dad in the office in Downtown Manhattan
I was visiting my dad in the office in Downtown Manhattan to help him out a little when we got hungry and decided to stop by the Tin Building for lunch. I heard that they had delicious salads, and I'm pleased to say that I wasn't misinformed. I ordered a salad with salmon, fennel, tomato, and peppers with an olive oil dressing mixed in. I've never been to a build-your-own salad place that had nice ingredients like this and didn't know what to expect, but once I got back to the office, I realized that the salad was so good that I couldn't put my fork down. The salmon was cooked perfectly, which is hard to do without overcooking and the salad wasn't too oily, nor was it too dry. The fennel also complimented the flavor of the salmon and the cherry tomatoes in the bowl. I can see why people love coming here, and I can see why this stop is so famous for its delicious food. Although the salads there aren't cheap the quality and taste of the food you order is well worth it as well as the view if you choose to stay and eat. I don't think I'll be back in the financial district anytime soon, but if I ever find myself near South Street Seaport for whatever reason, I know this will be on my list of go-to lunch spots.
We had been out and about all day and were parked in
We had been out and about all day and were parked in seaport near the Tin Building so we stopped by on our way to the car in order to pick out some items for a light dinner. We ended up with some cheese, $14 strawberries, and a whole bunch of pastries. About $100 later we made a cute little apps and desserts board. The pastries were the best thing here. We had a clementine cheesecake, pistachio Γ©clair, black & white cookie, banana cookie, key lime tart, and dark chocolate raspberry tart. The best thing here hands down was the banana cookie. It tasted like crisp chewy banana bread. I was also into the clementine cheesecake. I was sharing with a nine year old foodie and she thought the key lime tart was a little too acidic but I was into it. All in all this is a fine stop but be prepared for the prices. If I'm choosing between this and Eataly I'm choosing Eataly.

Small strawberry cake was $48 and even though carefully carried, it literally separated!Freshness and flavor were fine, however the appearance upon opening the box was unexpected. Cashier was fine.
