Considering that the tin building is home to one of the best vegan restaurants (AbcV), I am surprised by the dearth of vegan options at all the other points of sale within the tin building. A vegan breakfast cookie, an eggless egg sandwich, and a vegetable dosa wrap are all we're working with here. To all three: meh. AbcV is a beacon for plant-based people. Add more plant-based food? Five stars for selling morel mushrooms (albeit dried).

This place is absolutely stunning and features a wide array of food and edible goodies to host an elegant dinner party or give as gifts. It also has the most beautiful, well designed public restroom in all of NYC. Worth a visit just to use the loo!

Went to the pastry bar and got a raspberry crossaint. It was delectable!!! So fluffy and outside perfect crisp. Inside it had half cream and half raspberry filling that was the perfect amount of sweetness. 10/10, eat outside for waterside views.

Super clean. Fantastic bakery and coffee on the Hudson. Our go to spot. Don't you love yelps minimum word requirements. So useful.

The outdoor bar at tin is truly delightful even though the prices are steep . The bartender was incredibly friendly, and the lavender lemonade was simply divine.

I don't know who Jean-Georges is, but his building is foodie heaven! We came down to Seaport to walk around but it was cool and rainy and I stopped in for a cup of coffee...but found so much more! It's an indoor market with several different types of gourmet food stations, produce, cheeses, wine, a coffee bar, bakery, deli, butcher shop, plus chocolate and flowers! And more! (I was eyeing the crepe station!!) If I lived in New York I would definitely come here when planning special dinners or events. On two floors with an escalator, there are also restaurants, bars, a sushi bar, and cozy places to grab a bite if you want to dine in. I would love to come here with my husband to walk around and see everything, and it would be a fun place to meet friends too. See my pictures!
Be the first to Replycool neighborhood (seaport/fidi).
this food court. upscale. polished. and there's nothing there that you cannot get at a nyc specialty store. went for after work drinks. def lost me at 15$ for can of generic beer.
Be the first to ReplyWorth a visit, especially for foodies.
The Tin Building Market reminds me of Montreal's Jean Talon market but smaller and curated for New York. You'll find top line gourmet items not readily available elsewhere in the city - especially in the butcher department. If you're a rabbit fan, they have it! (Although I never thought I'd find chickens more expensive than Kosher or Whole Foods Organic, but obviously the pictured Silkie and Golden chickens must be a real treat!) That being said, it's unlikely you'd do your regular grocery shopping here unless you run a hedge fund, have a trust fund, or won the lottery. If you're hungry or thirsty now, The Tin Building packs assorted good options ranging from coffee spots with baked goods or bars to restaurants featuring different global cuisines. And... if you're a vegan or vegetarian, there's ABCV.

Honey cake was amazing and not too sweet, one of the best cakes I've had. Basque cheesecake was really good as well
Be the first to ReplyI was visiting my dad in the office in Downtown Manhattan
I was visiting my dad in the office in Downtown Manhattan to help him out a little when we got hungry and decided to stop by the Tin Building for lunch. I heard that they had delicious salads, and I'm pleased to say that I wasn't misinformed. I ordered a salad with salmon, fennel, tomato, and peppers with an olive oil dressing mixed in. I've never been to a build-your-own salad place that had nice ingredients like this and didn't know what to expect, but once I got back to the office, I realized that the salad was so good that I couldn't put my fork down. The salmon was cooked perfectly, which is hard to do without overcooking and the salad wasn't too oily, nor was it too dry. The fennel also complimented the flavor of the salmon and the cherry tomatoes in the bowl. I can see why people love coming here, and I can see why this stop is so famous for its delicious food. Although the salads there aren't cheap the quality and taste of the food you order is well worth it as well as the view if you choose to stay and eat. I don't think I'll be back in the financial district anytime soon, but if I ever find myself near South Street Seaport for whatever reason, I know this will be on my list of go-to lunch spots.

We had been out and about all day and were parked in seaport near the Tin Building so we stopped by on our way to the car in order to pick out some items for a light dinner. We ended up with some cheese, $14 strawberries, and a whole bunch of pastries. About $100 later we made a cute little apps and desserts board. The pastries were the best thing here. We had a clementine cheesecake, pistachio éclair, black & white cookie, banana cookie, key lime tart, and dark chocolate raspberry tart. The best thing here hands down was the banana cookie. It tasted like crisp chewy banana bread. I was also into the clementine cheesecake. I was sharing with a nine year old foodie and she thought the key lime tart was a little too acidic but I was into it. All in all this is a fine stop but be prepared for the prices. If I'm choosing between this and Eataly I'm choosing Eataly.

Small strawberry cake was $48 and even though carefully carried, it literally separated!Freshness and flavor were fine, however the appearance upon opening the box was unexpected. Cashier was fine.
Be the first to ReplyJust not worth the price.
Beautiful and good to visit but not better than other places in the neighborhood. Smallest oysters as well as scallops with Uni in the city. The uni literally looked like an orange smear. The wasabi had more presence on the plate. Not worth the $$$$.

Kind of surprised there wasn't a more authentic (or even authentic and progressive) version of the "dosa". It was pretty flavorless. There are other world cuisines in the building so why only go halfway with Indian? The dosa itself was delicious, just needed better filling.
Be the first to ReplyIt's a diamond at Seaport.
Talk about the three C's?! Cakes, cookies, and candies. And so much more. This building has glitter and glamour. The attention to detail is phenomenal. Every season provides surroundings that are new and beautiful.Take the time to go and grab a bite. Specialty meats and other grocery items are here. Vegetables that look like art. Vibrant floral arrangements just for you. Espresso and the most amazing raspberry cookie made time slow down just a little...

Finally came in Tin Building over the weekend to see what the buzz is all about. Definitely very cool spin on Eataly-like take on multi restaurant, and casual dining space with market areas for the chef in you. A creperie and patisserie on the ground level are also next to brasserie (which we tried for steak frites, onion soup as well as burger which was highly recommended. The seafood forward raw bar and sushi restaurant is also on the same level. Upstairs is an Italian and vegan eateries as well a full on shanghai inspired restaurant that probably the most popular. Service was a bit slow at the brasserie otherwise wasn't too crowded on a Sunday. Definitely worth exploring especially when the warmer weather will spill drinking and food options to outdoor seating.
Be the first to ReplyLoveeee this place and there's something for everyone here.
Came with a few coworkers to grab coffee at T. Cafe and do work. There was strong wifi and plenty of outlets in the neighboring tables. There are so many great lunch options and I love the overall vibe. It's upscale, clean, fresh, and modern. Will definitely have to come back and pick up some market goodies next time.

The Tin Building by Jean-Georges is a marketplace, a collection of restaurants, and a host of events (such as food crawls), all in one spot.We came here in the evening while we were in the area, and it was nice to have a variety of options to choose from. When our group came here for lunch and dinner, I tried:+T. Brasserie - baked brie (prepared with lemon jam, pistachio, and honey), the gruyere cheeseburger (nestled bewteen a puff pastry bun, served with pommes frites), and the pear and apple endive salad (with bleu cheese and pecans)+Sandwich & Salad - roast beef on rye (with lettuce, tomatoes, and onions)+and, T. Cafe - cold brew and a latteThe place was chic, open, airy, and well-decorated. You can definitely spend some time in here, enjoying the eats and playing catch up. Restrooms are clean!+variety of eateries+marketplace+clean restrooms

Amazing new market located in the heart of South Street Seaport. Tons of beautiful restaurants and market stalls - there's something here for everyone. Went here for lunch with my family and we all got something different; tacos, pizza, pasta, pastries...so yum. My favorite thing was the truffle pizza. It is on the pricier side but you get what you pay for.

This place wasn't meant for you.The TB is beautiful and has a decent variety of food spots and culinary delights to tickle your fancy. I've been here multiple times and have enjoyed the bakery, crepes and their bathrooms. The display of fish and breads are glorious. If you're in the area checking out pier 17, you owe it to yourself to drop by

Don't feel like visiting Tin Building will always be a super expensive meal. I went for the casual egg sandwich at Double Egg Yolk and can say it's one of the best egg sandwiches I've ever had! Plus it helps that it's served in a cool market with a lot of other options for drinks, coffee, desserts, etc. Perfect for a Saturday breakfast!

This is a foodie's heaven!!!!With 10 restaurants and 13 markets there's no doubt you'll find what you seek. It's all about sustainability, farm-to-market, farm-to-table and helping make for a better world.I ate at Frenchman's Dough upstairs which is Italian with a twist and my meal was delectable and the service on point. Also ate downstairs at Double Yolk and the staff there was friendly and we joked around some. The Patisserie provided me some dessert and breakfast that went with me to my hotel. The items were baked to perfection and there was none of that Crisco on the roof of your mouth that you get from baked goods at a supermarket. (Yes, it's Crisco, I'm a baker). The confectionary has candy and chocolate from all over. The chocolate is amazing and I was able to partake in a few countries I haven't had before. If I lived in NYC I'd have to be within walking distance of this, LOL thankfully my hotel was

I had the skate, the fish was overproduced and covered in batter so that it was hard to taste the actual fish. Strange sides. Was expecting a fresher approach.
